What's new

Game #11: Nets at Jazz, Saturday 01/14/2012 7:00 MST

You said it. That's where that rumor came from to begin with.

People covering their eye at him is not rumor. It is fact because I saw it. How about the Fisher Lied shirts? Feel free to deny what happened. No skin off my nose.

I never said those weren't true. I said the cancer chant was nothing but a rumor. And Fisher did lie. Feel free to deny that. And it was not people covering their eye. It was one person. Well....per the picture but since you were there and all, I guess I can't claim it was just one person.

I only say the pic of the one person but it did happen I can guarantee you that. I never said what Fisher did was on the up and up. However him being a douche is no reason for us to be so. Letting others dictate your mood and actions is cowardice and/or lack of self control in which case you would have done soemthing like that anyways.

Of course there may have been some other reason for that guy to cover his eye. We don't know what his motivation was.

The problem with this debate is that everything is opnion. We are not arguing facts or a single event. We are arguing an opinion. Everyones will be ever so slightly different from everyone elses. As long as you don't get personal or vindictive than we should all be cool with what people do.

Ahh yes, the "brutally honest," or "real," or "people who like to tell it like it is." You sound like my sister. They think "being real" and "honest" is an excuse for having zero social etiquette and tact.

Why are people so obsessed with their "right to boo"?

Just because you can, doesnt mean you should. Take a step back from your "fandom" and realize its really just a game of basketball. Its really not all that important.

I know you dont want to hear this, but these basketball players are people to. And most of the time their personas on the court arent who they really are. They may show visible frustration and anger on the court but that doesnt make them a bad person. They are just in the heat of battle and they know they are under the microscope, so all their emotions are left on the court.

And just because they get paid a lot of money doesnt make it ok. Everybody deserves to be treated with some dignity unless they dont give the same. Save your booing for people who really deserve it. Such as the people who arent good people off the court. Deron never did anything off the court to be treated like scum.

I remember when Ron Artest rushed the stands and started knocking heads because some idiot fan decided to throw a beer on him. I had no problem with him doing that. Just because these guys are paid to entertain you doesnt mean they are your little pets or whatever.

Try treating other people with respect and maybe this world would be a better place.
Wow, Blues. You're rapidly changing my opinion of you for the positive. It's almost the exact reverse of what chitown has recently done. I'd rep you again but the system won't let me.

Deron coming back will be like the time you got dumped by the hot girl and kept telling yourself you were better off. Then you run into the hot girl with a guy that's better than you and then reality kicks you right in the coin purse.

Isn't the scenario that we dumped Deron, hooked up with a hot, immature girl, that just graduated high school that you could stare at all day, but the second she opens her mouth you instinctively roll your eyes. And then when we run into our ex (Deron) she's dating the guy (the Nets) that takes your ticket at the local Megaplex (RIP Larry), with Tron Legacy printed underneath his name on his badge.

You dont have to cheer Deron, but boooing him is classless. The guy may have had some attitude towards the end, but it may have been justified. Alot of his complaints I agree with. The team should have watched film. They should have changed to force baseline. The team should have been more agressive in trades. Jerry wasnt a perfect coach. Deron was just frustrated with the insanity of trying the same thing over and over. And I agree with him.

The guy gave us all a lot fun memories. And he was tough as nails. He chose to play through injuries that he could have just sat out. And he did that for the good of the team

Deron 100 percent deserves to hear an initial standing ovation for everything he gave this team.

#1. I have lots of friends

#2 why do I have to cheer for Deron to influence people? I'm a very brutally honest person, and not scared to speak my mind. People always know where they stand with me. That's what influences people.
It influences people to hit the ignore button.

Your honest feelings are perfectly valid. But your need to express them won't serve you well. You don't need to give someone a stick to hit you with. Be friends with everybody. You'll catch more flies with honey.

I'm serious - read "how to win friends and influence people."

Our time is up.

It's like those people who believe the first ammendment allows them to say whatever they want with no repercussions.

Yeah, you can boo all you want (that's your right), but the consequence of doing it, is that it makes you look like a douche.

LMAO!

Hilarious!

Hey, I may have stumbled in here on roller skates with no experience but I'll gain my balance sooner or later

That's what influences people. I don't like the way Deron conducted himself as the leader and star of the team. I just got done listening to DJ and PK do an interview with the Nets announcer. The announcer said the coaching staff had to personally address Derons on court body language and attitude with Deron. He is a talented player but does that sound like a leader to you?

Just because I choose to boo Deron doesn't mean I'm a social recuse. Me booing Deron doesnt make me a bad person, it's me expressing how I feel

You sound like an 18 year old broad on Myspace. I'm brutally honest, I speak my mind, blah blah blah.

You know, its fans like you that give Jazz fans in general a bad name, which probably makes it even harder for the team to recruit free agents. Not to mention booing Deron will probably encourage him to play harder against us.

You are hurting the Jazz in two different ways.

This is the issue I've always raised with the "Deron really, really wants to win crowd". Wanting to win is great but how you go about expressing it can somedtimes be a detriment to the rest of your team - whether it be whipping the ball at a player like Hayward because he's cutting plays or showing up a player like Matthews because he's not shooting when you're trying to pad your assists stats.

And in a perfect world, there would be no crimes of passion, only love. In this world, however, you have to take the good with the bad. I'll take a player like Deron, who cares too much, 10 times out of 10 over a player who is a good sport, but lacks passion.

And just because it doesn't get said enough, I'm grateful to Deron for not not embarrassing the team with a trade demand, which very well could have happened. His behavior could have been better, but at least he tried to stick it out in a bad situation.

I'd give Memo a standing O. I can't think of any former Jazz man that I would do that for other than him, however.
Of course Okur deserves an ovation.

His trade away from the Jazz has probably already garnered Utah a one or two of their wins, not to mention ones to come in the future thanks to Okur's previous PT going to Favors, Kanter, and others.
