I just cannot imagine Memo and Deron wearing another jersey and playing in ESA for the opponent. I look forward to the game but do not know how, as a long time Jazz even a bigger Memo fan, I will react to that.
- Putting emotions and booing/not booing arguments aside, and thinking a little bit about the matchup, as a basketball fan who have watched the Nets play 7-8 times so far, I say watch out for a 3pt barrage led by Morrow and the offense of rookie sensation Brooks.
- The Nets have been terrible defensively and subpar at best offensively. As I stated in a thread about fav. teams to follow, I just feel sorry for Deron, Mehmet and Yata. Unless the wings are scoring from deep, you can very well mark an L for Nets. Offense is well-structured but b/c of Lopez injury + lack of training w/ new additions, inside-outside balance and patience for good execution just do not exist. Posessions used by each Net indicates an imbalance.
- The court vision of wings and guards except Dwill and Farmar is so terrible that the only chances of a freakin' shot for Hump, who is a hard worker on offense and boards, and Memo arrive when
1) the shot clock is about to expire and they give the ball to Okur for a J or they just shoot it hoping for an off. board from a great rebounder, Kris.
2) Deron or Farmar plays pick'n roll/pop with either bigman.
- Memo has always been a poor PnR defender, and yesterday Price, starting in place of Nash, exploited that weakness. Memo recovered well after show-ups but on side pick and roll plays, he struggled. Good thing for the Jazz is his back up Petro has become a bench warmer and Shelden literally sleeps on the court. Corbin knows Memo's game better than anybody in NBA, boom.
- Lastly; just my observation, but Deron seems to be in desperate need for a 2nd reliable scorer until Brook comes back and with Memo being rusty, coming from back injury and struggling within this wing-dominated offense, he relies highly on Marshon Brooks' offense. This sometimes leads to Brooks' being a ballhog and even a more stagnant offense for Nets, too many fast breaks for opponents. The Jazz should take advantage.
