What's new

Game #12 Jazz@Denver, Sunday 1/15 6:00 p.m.

Ty's message about defense has gotten thru. This is encourage early news about our coach. Now he just needs to have the potion to keep them together over a long stretch of time.

Al Jefferson is trying to do a little more passing. I'm still waiting for that to look natural... Great game from him, though.

Sap's clinic in the fourth was a thing of beauty. he's 2short4ballzlolz

Good to see Hayward pull out a strong second half after a so-so first half. Loved the strong finishes at the rim! The pieces are coming together. Even Raja has his swagger back. Still sucks though.

Best win of the season so far!!! Great TEAM win! Overcame adversity w/o Howard and Favors. Everyone made plays when it counted. Masterfully coached once again by Ty. LOVE THIS SQUAD!!!

Millsap just wanted to remind us he is the OG and it's safe to say he's shaken the rust off from the first few games this year. He's worth every penny and I hope he's a Jazzman for life.

Go Jazz!

The kool aid helps me forget that some of our players suck.

I have to say that I was absolutely irate when they extended Corbin without seeing a full year of his coaching first. He has been quite impressive so far, he and his staff that is. The most encouraging thing is that we are not getting blown out and not letting the teams run us out of the gym. We're always there. What a hugely different team this is from when we last played the Nuggies.

Lets not forget Corbin's skill as a coach in this game

a) great rotations, and limited the playing of our starters yesterday so we would have energy tonight
b) took a key timeout in the 2nd quarter when Denver was making a run (they were 8-0, up 6 points), and then the Jazz took away the defect in the last 2 minutes before half-time

Great game for everyone, including the coaching staff. Our team seems to be having amazing chemistry

Yes, Corbin was a noticeable factor in this game. Part of his message on defense was to keep the pace of the game down, and he used is timeouts to do that if the players couldn't keep the pace down over a few plays.

nice catch.

It will probably never look natural. None of our big men are natural passers.

Srsly though. I would die of happiness if we signed Ostertag to a 10 day contract to replace Favors if he misses a couple of games for the ankle.

Best part about this game: The Nuggets organization and Aaron Afflalo simultaneously realizing that Aaron Afflalo is not worth 42 million dollars, nor half that.

Here's something the stat sheet won't show: Hayward's transition defense was great tonight.

Also, Jeremy Evans is a better team defender than most people recognize. He needs more time. somehow.

Also, Raja Bell has been playing pretty well since the Warriors game where he stopped Ellis.

Shooting 60% from the field, and 36% from deep since that game.

Can't sign any 10 day contracts until Feb 6 this year.

Nice to see the Jazz win with slashers/post game and solid defense. That's exactly what has to happen for you to win on the road when your outside guns are suspect.

While Corbin deserves criticism for the first 2 or 3 games or so,
he deserves huge props since then for figuring things out
--cutting Bell's minutes until he started producing
--starting to give Burks, Favors, and Kanter some time regularly
--insisting on defense --> even Jefferson and CJ sometimes pass & defend

Playing with fire is a huge part of his game apparently. Like, he's really really bad if he's depressed and stuff and taking sleeping pills. From now on we need to create rumors about opposing players talking crap about Raja and how he named his son Zen Phoenix.

I'm a Jazz fan stuck in Denver so I had to listen to their feed. Their post game commentators are so obnoxious I had to register to share. Comments such as "The jazz aren't a team that will be in the mix at the end of the year" or "The nuggets have to learn to take care of lesser teams" or "the nuggets lost to a team that they just should not lose to." Give me a break. What have the nuggets accomplished to justify that garbage? What homers.
