What's new

Game 2: The Redemption: Utah Jazz @ Denver Nuggets (12/28/11, 7pm MST)

What is the over/under on Ty Lawson's points? I think he could get 50 if he wanted. If he saw the game tape, he will start salivating. This could get ugly quick.

I'd love to see us bounce back and get the dubb! I know we have the talent.

Obviously the only thing I will be paying attention too is the starting lineup and rotation, and Ty's substitution pattern. If it remains the same as last night, and he continues to leave the same lineup on the floor as the opposition's lead balloons to an insurmountable number, my head will explode with rage and I will litter this board with threads screaming for his removal.

Hopefully both of Bell's femur's snap on the way to the game so he won't be available.

For whatever it's worth, Ty Lawson is awesome and the ideal point guard for our team moving forward. He is phenomenal. Hopefully he doesn't murder us tonight by blowing by Harris and Watson all game. Staying in front of him and keeping him out of the lane and drawing double teams will be crucial to our success.

The thing that pissed me off was that Jefferson was jogging back on D each time. He gave fouls and layups or forced other players to cover for him. Corbin needs to bench Jefferson until he sprints back on D each time.

I think Harris and Howard need to play together some. Either lets start Howard and bring Bell off the bench or stagger our rotations.

Watson and Evans need 5 minutes on the court together every game. We get 2 alley-op dunks every time.

We need try Favors in pick and rolls more often. He isn't ready to get it done in the post.

Did you watch the game? Jefferson only played 25 minutes.

Personally I felt he played a good 1st half, just his shots didn't fall. I felt he was giving good effort on D.

Then the 2nd half happened, and his shots still weren't falling. He started to give poor body language and less effort. He got benched in the 3rd and didn't come back.

I agree with playing Howard more though. He was seemed like our most aggressive wing player.

Think this will most likely come down to Nuggets making 3's and us making 2's (sometimes). So probably 80-120 Denver.

I was worried more about defense than offense but it looks like both are equally worrisome. What I would like to see this game is the continued effort to get the ball down low. We actually were pretty successful getting the ball inside, just could not finish ANYTHING. Also we need Harris/Hayward/Miles/Burks to just take it hard to the basket. We need to get to the FT line

Did you see Jefferson on that Metta World Peace dunk? He basically was a spectator. He could have blocked that dunk.

I'm going to guess that it wasn't his fault. Follow me here, it should make sense if you ever played basketball.

Jefferson started boxing out after he saw MWP set up for an open 3. He doesn't shoot it, but drives. At this moment Al's back is too him. Is anyone on the team communicating to Al that this is happening? Didn't look like it. (Even though I may be completely wrong, maybe someone screamed it and Al is that slow).

Al shouldn't have turned his back to box out that early, but I understand why he did. Our defense needs to communicate where guys are coming from.

Shoot, just realized this game is the same time as the Baylor/MSU game. Guess I will have to watch both at the same time. One on the computer, one on the TV.

Watch the whole play. After he got his **** stuffed (not a problem, as at least he tried to attack the rim), Favors scrambled to try to grab the offensive board. The Lakers secured it, and started running. Al jogged back, getting beat down court easily by McRoberts despite having a head start on him. This forced Hayward to help on McRoberts, leaving Artest open. Favors, having somehow beaten Al back on D, scrambled to get out on Artest, who pump faked and drove to the hole. Al secured poor position trying to box out Gasol, paying absolutely no attention to what was going on around him, forcing Hayward to try to help late. The dunk ensued.

This play was no surprise. Al is terrible running the floor and helping his teammates. His on-court awareness is ridiculously bad. His offensive performance (highly overrated on this board) doesn't come close to making up for these constant mistakes.

I have the same problem. Will be at the UK game tonight .. but will be wired up to be able follow the Jazz as well .. appreciate, in advance, the in-game updates.

This.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to GVC again.

Sorry. :(

I just got back from the future, I'll tell you all about it. The Jazz had no semblance of an offensive identity, had no emotion or energy, a lot of standing around looking confused on both sides of the court and a certain big man played flat footed all night. Now, go enjoy that UK game, my friend!

Well, what I like about this season is that yesterday is already history and today is already another battle.

Actually, they even don't have the time to realize how pathetic they were. For this young team it's better. They need games and need to play.

The talent is there, we all know it and there are flashes of that. The more they'll play - the fast the they'll do better.

C'mon Jazz!!!

I just got Dish network. Does anyone know what channel the game will be on for dish?

Root sports. It's in the 3 or 4 hundreds somewhere. Hit the search button, filter for sports only, then filter for basketball only. Your results will show every game for the next 7 days. The one that starts half an hour earlier then the other has the pregame show, that's the one you want.

....are you Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles? We have "talent?" We can't shoot, we have no speed or quickness, we have no basketball brains. Where's the talent???

Are you serious? No talent. The young guys are full of it. Same with Millsap. Don't go overboard. Obviously there are clear problems but really???

I think we will look a millions times better than last night but still probably lose. A difference between games just like preseason games.

I know we're all freaking out last night but I actually really liked our effort at times and especially the way we would collapse on D. We seemed to be playing too hard for the most part. Rushing shots and playing too aggressive on D. We arent going to miss 20 layups every game.
I think we will calm down a lot more tonight and be a fun team to watch.
