What's new

Game 3: 11/1/14 Suns at Jazz 7 p.m. ROOT (TV)

Derrick Favors is nr. 3 in PER so far this season with 36,2, being Anthony Davis with 38,9 and Brandan Wright (!) with 36,8. Yeah, I know, sample size and all that, but I still love how he has started this season.

Hayward took 15 shots this game. That's a little bit closer to what a "franchise player" should be shooting.

But easily dwarfed by Favors' game last night... even if he out rebounded Favors.

Hopefully, we'll see more of that.

I am not sure what PER is but Exum is rank 1 out of the top 10 draft picks on 13.87 the only one in double figures and is the only one not in minus in of OWS/DWS and and has a positive WS

As a new Jazz fan after jumping off the jailblazers (Drexler was the first person i saw play on TV and became my favourite player) Favors and Burks are really impressive and look like they could be stars..There is alot to be excited about with this team.

Suns' has possibly one of the weakest inside presence in the league with Plumlee starting and unproven Len off the bench.. you probably won't see Favors dominating like this most games.

Strange since he did the things tonight that he normally is criticized for. (Defense, passing)
And the team played it's best with him on the court

Right. I don't remember who it was, but somebody (probably multiple folks) on this board has been pretty vocal about wanting Burks to drive and kick - he did that for it seems at least 6-7 open threes last night, though only 1 or 2 guys knocked down the shots.

Welcome. Maybe I am not comprehending your statement, but if you just switched why now? Blazers have a more advanced young nucleus.

I love all the stuff Burks does that doesn't show up on the stat sheet

Monson's article this morning talks about Burks playing nice D last night. I only watched about 10 minutes last night, but it seemed we closed out on the 3 pt line WAY better than we had, several opportunities eliminated, most 3s contested. More of that please.

Harden 6-18 for 18 points
Monta Ellis 6-13 14 points
Dragic 5-13 10 points

Somewhat funny that out of Burke and Exum, Exum is hitting his shots and Burke isn't, and sad at the same time. I hope Exum keeps it up.

I am a Aussie and could just never get into the Bucks for Bogut, but watching the NBA in the late 80's - 90's I just loved watching Drexler, Porter, Sabonis it was enjoyable. Watching Exums and Ben Simmons fathers play at the Melbourne tigers made it easy =)

It is strange.... but I want exum to be great more than I want burke to be. Plus I was very worried about exums outside shot so it's nice to see the improvement.

Burke otoh shot badly last year too so I'm used to it.

The question is can Exum hit a shot off the dribble or does he have to be stationary to shoot. This is the one question I have.

I absolutely loved Favors aggressiveness last night. I hope he can bottle it because if he does he should be an All-star. Hayward played aggressively too last night. Hopefully, these nice guys will realize that when they are on the court nice guys finish last.

I am just so excited about Exum. The kid is going to be special. I really loved his defense and passing too. Solid game for the minutes he got. Just wanted to mention his countryman Inglis, dude has a high basketball IQ, I see why he gets minutes.

The bench stepped it up in the second half if they can compete like that most nights the Jazz will be competing for wins and getting some respect around the league.
