Game 3 Thread: 6:30 PM MT Time

Gobert and Hayward are carrying this team. It's laughable that you think Mack is a big reason why we're in the games. That's the funniest **** I'll read all week.

Mack is the team's 3rd leading scorer this series... so yeah. I think he is the 3rd biggest reason we are in a lot of these games and not getting absolutely trounced.

According to a break down an article did of the stats, Neto(followed by Exum) is actually our best option and he only got 3 minutes as well. I get that Mack has the most experience. I hope if we don't find a way to keep Hill, next year we have a little more faith to run with our two young guys. But we also have to understand we are at the point in the rebuild to be pushing to the finals next year. Just like with the dwill, memo, boozer team...development takes a bit of a back seat when you're trying to win it all.

I also think Quin is trying to make things work with Dante, hence playing him at the 2. I think he's trying to figure out of he can do better there. It took him a bit to use jj at the 4 and I think he's trying to find where Dante will excel. Maybe we lose Hood and Dante improves his shot and becomes our deadly shooter.

Ingles and Johnson are pretty ineffective against the Warriors speed, athleticism, and length and Hood is in the same boat and can't hit a 3 to save his life. With Hill out and Favors being reduced to just playing 8 minutes of backup center, Mack is kind of our 3rd best player.

Early in the shot clock and a few feet behind the line? He's not Curry, that was an ill advised shot for sure.

Yeah, but it was a higher quality of shot than we had gotten in many possessions prior or after that shot. It wasn't the greatest, but I wasn't mad at the shot in the flow of the game. We could also freak out about the shot he took in David West's face, but he drained it so no one cares. Mack has been shooting the 3 ball very well the past two games, so I felt his confidence in the shot and it felt good.

Where is Hayward going to go?

The Rockets don't play defense.
The Celtics can't rebound and their lottery pick is a few years away from impacting the league.

If the Jazz can make the right moves, Utah is a good situation.
Yep, of all the teams that can sign him, who has a better chance of completing?

It's not Boston, not with Thomas getting all the shots he wants.

Which means we get swept without putting up a fight. Whenever Mack is on the floor, he becomes the point of attack for the Warriors offense; how convenient for Curry.

I know guys have mentioned it, but Quin lost supporters last night. Mack plays 37 minutes and Exum plays 3. The last thing we need is to be questioning the coach. That is a massive hit to a team trying to build a contender.

Every realistic fan knows that we weren't a contender this year. However, we aim to be contenders within the next couple years with the necessary development. Our chances for contention lies with Gobert, Hayward, Favors, Hood and Exum.

Playing Mack 37 minutes and Exum 3 is illogical. If Hill was 100% healthy, playing Exum only 3 minutes still is illogical. Quin created doubters last night.

And somehow he played good defense against Curry in game 3. I think every game has had fight, especially game 3, the game in which Mack played the most.

Exum came into the game and gave up 4 easy points by committing stupid fouls and took a contested 3 in transition. Of course he only played 3 minutes, he was a **** show.
Mack started the game in a similar fashion but was given the opportunity to play through it. Also, Exum got 0 minutes with Gobert, Mack got most of his with Gobert, makes a difference.

It was a desperate shot. Mack should never have a possession where only he touches the ball. He is at best the 3rd option.

I'm getting Trey Burke flashbacks when I watch Mack.

Mack was an over dipped Oreo last night. He was great for about 15 minutes of playing time but we never got him out and he ended up hurting us down the stretch.

He's also 4/8 from 3 and 9/11 from the FT line and was instrumental in getting Green in early foul trouble of game 3.

Right. Mack giveth and Mack taketh away. Somewhat neutralizes himself at best and I'd much rather see Exum getting a bit of time. Take 9 minutes or so and give them to Dante.

Then we might be down 8 going into the 4th instead of being tied.

Hard to say. Maybe we don't get into that hole in the first if a different lineup was used.

Look, I appreciate your thoughtful defense of Mack. He's clearly giving it all he's got. I just don't believe he gives us appreciably more than Exum or Neto could give us, and I'd rather see Exum get time to develop.
