What's new

Game #5: Hornets at Jazz, January 2nd 2012, 7:00 PM MST

You're right he's playing hard. But there is a difference between playing hard and playing well. NBA teams can't afford to have a guy who's shooting 35% FGs on the floor. Sure if I have to choose between him and Miles/Bell, I take Howard - probably because of what he once was and I hope he can return to something close to that. Unfortunately Corbin's too much of a knucklehead to sit either Bell or Miles. Right now, however, unless any of those three start playing well and earning their time, none of them should be causing Hayward and Burks - Evans to a lesser extent - to sit on the bench.

We have just started the season. A players stats at this stage of the game shouldn't even be looked at. Lets wait till the all-star break before we criticize his FG%, especially seeing as Howard is coming off of an injury riddled-season, and he just signed to a new team, rendering him completely unfamiliar with its offense.

I am personally a fan of his play, and he's essentially all we wanted out of Raja Bell last/this year. I expect him to improve; my only gripe is that I don't want Hayward to be thrown to the bench as a result of his "rise", which could be credited to him if he keeps on launching several attempts.

It's also worth pointing out that Karl Malone had a 4 game stretch in his 98/99 MVP season where he shot .325 (26-80 from 3/18/99 through 3/23/99). Howard needs to stop chucking, yes, but it's still a little early to assume that he's gong to continue performing as he has thus far.

Need to see more from Howard before making any rash judgements. My gut feeling so far is he was a steal for 3 million a year. Legit SF with good size and hasn't lost much of his athleticism.

Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin said Monday morning he'll start Devin Harris, Raja Bell, Gordon Hayward, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson against New Orleans at EnergySolutions Arena.
All 13 Utah players are expected to be active.
Corbin said Josh Howard sprained his ankle Saturday during a road loss to San Antonio.
Al Jefferson said he's feeling "good." Medication is helping his inflamed right ankle, and as long as he's not limping he will play.

a) WHY IS BELL STARTING AGAIN!?!?!?!
b) Howard could be out, if not hell probably get reduced minutes. This could either result in more minutes for CJ, or maybe even some minutes for Burks. Regardless, we lost one of our better defenders for the game, which is unfortunate.

In the final day of having my place to myself I picked up some grass for the Jazz game. Can't believe I hadn't thought of that for the previous regular season games, but we always win under these circumstances.

LETS GET IT!!!!!! I believe all the cool kids say, 'we're going to merk them'.

I find what seems to be Utah/New Orleans but ends up always being Indiana/New Jersey. Conspiracy!! lol
