I've been commening on Millsap's pathetic defense all season. What's the point anymore. A lot of people here love Millsap. I don't know why though. The Millsap of 4 years ago is MIA and has been for years.

Agree. I wanted him back with the C4 but now I would rather bring in Brand/Hickson or the like. Millsap and Jefferson need to be gone.

Yep Jerry coached circles around Dantley in that series, and tonight was the reversal between Karl and Corbin.
Rather than - say change the matchups by playing your best and most active defenders - in the 3rd-quarter Ty's first counter to Denver's run was to switch to a 2-3 zone. Denver scored on 3 of their next 4 possessions (actually 4/5 but the last one came off a fastbreak). Jazz then called a TO, yet they still stayed in the zone and Mo Williams kept getting caught playing on the backline, where Denver would penetrate/pressure from the wing and send their 2/3 backdoor right behind Mo. Child's play.
In the 4th-qtr - (again instead of playing your best and most active defenders) - Ty's counter was try Utah's "big lineup" with Foye/Hayward/Millsap/Favors/Jefferson and Denver's speed simply ran them out of the gym. The play that epitomized the entire quarter was when they tried posting Millsap on the left block but Denver, utilizing their quickness, came with a hard-double that resulted in a steal and a fastbreak dunk the other way.
I can't say the entire loss should fall on Ty's shoulders but in the 2nd-half Ty resembled someone whose solution to fixing a leaky roof is to put on a rain coat.
 
Once again, against a good team the Jazz's awful starting lineup shows up to wet the bed.

The third quarters with this team are extremely depressing, and tonight was no different. I would actually be a Ty supporter (well that might be going to far) but would at least give the guy more leeway if it looked like he was trying out there.

I haven't been able to disagree with you about the Jazz and their personnel for a while and tonight is no exception.

Foye was the real culprit tonight. Too small to guard any of the wings and his shot was ice cold. Same with Mo and not being able to handle anyone he was guarding.
 
Just to add... Where did the jazz have an advantage against Denver? Obviously not on the perimeter! So why did big al only get 11 shots? Usually he has that by the 1st qtr! why did Mo 12? Foye 9?

I bet our winning % is horrific when the backcourt players have more shot attempts than the front court. That would be a fun David Locke stat that could really open up some eyes. Especially given how there is so much talk on how we need a pg that isn't a complete moron.
