I thought exum and gobert changed the game defensively. I can't put my finger on it, but I don't think passive is the word for exum. Maybe patient, fearless. I still don't know what he is Gonna become, but he has the tools. I wonder if he would play differently as a starter.
The whole defense is inefficient it isn't just a matter of singles.
Exums length was bothering lowry. There was one point where you could tell it was getting under his skin. He could not just blow by at will. Gobert had a couple of blocks that made the raptors think twice about going into the paint. Especially the guards. No they didn't. The defense still sucked maybe a little less but it was still terrible.
Just to see here, whose defense is worse Burke or Kanter? I'd go with Burke, because his breakdown on defense puts strain on the whole team.
Thought most of the guys played well.... Toronto was on frickin fire...

Bercause Kanter is the reason Jazz lose games. This has always been so and always will be.While we don't win, Kanter good performances will be overshadowed.

Do you think it's just that Favors and Kanter don't work together?
How many times can you say and believe that before you realize it's your own team's problem? The Jazz get lit up every night.
Thanks for this info. With Enes and Derrick together we outscored them by 3 points in 26.3 minutes.
Over the season those two have a NetRtg of -2.8 in 366 minutes.
Derrick plays worse with Trey (-5.6 NetRtg/469 MIN), Alec (-3.0 NetRtg/427 MIN) and Trevor (-9.6 NetRtg/180 MIN)!
In limited minutes te combo Derrick/Rudy showed promise but they just played together for 7 MIN.
The pick and roll problem is a trend and some of the threes were wide open, but Lowry, Williams, and Vasquez also made a bunch of tough shots as well. Look at their 3-pt. percentages... all of those guys shoot in the mid-30s percentage wise... they went 8/12 last night between them. They were pretty hot.

But we are seeing that with regularity, meaning we give up too many open looks.
And the Jazz? Do we have any shooters? Gordon is maybe a halfway great shooter, anyone else? Kanter to some degree for a big. And that is it. Every team we face seems to have 2 to 5 lights out shooters.
You should not speak about things you don't know. Have you ever heard him break down the pick'n roll?Karl Malone cant teach anything
all he does is talk crap.
hes a cool guy but not a coach. Karl coming in to coach was a pr stunt, now stop talking.
I think they are both young and need more seasoning. If Randolph and Gasol can work, then why not Kanter and Favors.Do you think it's just that Favors and Kanter don't work together?

We aren't good defensively, but we aren't as bad as last night showed. Toronto was hot. They took and made many contested jumpers... that was my point people.
