Dupe account I'll bet. Jazzfanz is like the team; we rarely develop fresh new talent. The old vets are just recycled over and over. Not that I'm complaining...who else would have me?
I definitely don't have talent or a good eye for it. Just a fan in his 30s who grew up with Hot Rod on the radio while shooting on my Nerf hoop. Never played organized ball, but my Teacher's Quorum team used to beat teams 150 to 30 or so. I'm a computer programmer who can handle most of the other devs at work, but the sales guys would kill me. To lose all credibility and not prove that I'm an alt here are some opinions on drafts and things:
I remember wanting Steve Nash, if for no other reason that he was a point guard within our range when Stockton was getting older.
I was really mad at Denver for picking Ty Lawson right before us.
Raul Lopez wasn't a horrible pick, just bad luck.
I'm not mad at Deron, I don't boo him. Glad we got something for him though after he hurt his wrist.
Sloan held on for too long, the game passed him by. He looks really old at games.
Biggest mistake recently (obvious) is giving Corbin a 3 year deal without seeing what he could do.
The more the season goes on there are fewer and fewer guys I want for the long haul. Favors can't have these 4-6 rebound games. Hayward if less than 8M/year. Kanter is undersized and needs to become the bull he was his rookie year (gain some weight back). Burks is fun to watch and is my favorite on the team. No more washed up vets please. I really wanted Hayward traded to Boston or Phoenix at the deadline for a pick or two.
I wanted to take a flier on Biyombo, because his defense could have become elite and I didn't like that draft class very much. Didn't think we should get Kanter because he could only jump 6 inches and was getting blocked by high school kids.
I wanted Schroeder last year (didn't think we'd move up) for his defense. Would have preferred MCW over Burke just because of length, though Trey is (too) clutch.
I think defense wins championships. I want Wiggins over Parker for that reason. Don't want Embiid any longer due to his back. Current draft order: T1: Wiggins / T2: Parker / T3: Gordon, getting talked into Smart (as a PG), maybe could get talked into Randle if he is taller than Millsap / T4: who knows.
Current favorite player to watch in the NBA: Kevin Love, love those huge outlet passes. Weird since I want more defense, maybe rebounds count as defense.
Picked my username because that is the year I would peg for our first legit shot at WCF/Finals.
And I won't post enough to be an alt.
