He never found any reason because he was benched the whole 2nd Quarter for NO REASON.
When Earl isn't running with the 2nd unit he usually isn't that good.

let me tell you a story.
jazz are on a 11-0 run. there is a pick and roll with lowry(who has been playing like a alls tar all season) and some other houston scrub. jazz switches which leaves jefferson on lowry jefferson then decides to run away from lowry back to his own man. leaving lowry who was shooting 5 of 6 from three point wide open beyond the 3 point line. from a 2 point game to 5 point game.
killed the jazz momentum and houston went on a run game over.
yet cj got flack for busting his guts trying to defend a 3 jumps and TRIES his hardest to block it but fouls the guy in the proces.
well i'd rather have someone busting his gut on defense rather than someone who runs away from the hottest guy on the court.
jefferson and howard need to go yo.
i used to play basketball there is this golden unwritten rule.
if someone is HOT (shooting 3 3 pointers) or something. you never ever ever ever leave him open when he has the ball.
if you pressure him and sitll scores then just foul him hard. to get the physicality on his mind when he shoots the next ball

I think Ty (we're on close terms) would say, "he had two fouls", but that doesn't excuse the lack of minutes overall. Although he was timid Hayward, the guy that I find hard to take. When he's aggressive he's special. He's kind of been in a three game slump.
A bad cold? So his nose was really stuffed up?
Hayward was fine. Actually played quite well in the 1st.
I do not buy 2 fouls as a reason to sit him. 3...maybe...only if you plan on playing him a lot.
Then, to the bench till the 3rd where he got another whopping 8 minutes (till the end when it was over and Ty was ticked at CJ).
Ty is LOSING a lot of our games with Stupid rotations.
CJ & Howard should not see the floor much. Hayward & Burks should be playing a lot more.
I've said it before and I will say it again, these time rotations make EVERYONE worse.
We should have at least 4 more wins if we had a real coach. Today's game was very winnable.
I can understand not putting him in the 2nd quarter. CJ was playing pretty good defense, and to his credit, hit a big 3 pointer towards the end. Hayward was able to start the 3rd with only two fouls (and he picked up a 3rd pretty quickly) which would allow him to be more aggressive.
Did you watch the game today? I agree that Burks should be playing more, but today he didn't earn any minutes. He played terrible defense and couldn't get past Kevin Martin (yeah, that's right Kevin Martin) on offense.
He learns quick though.
We are going nowhere this season. I want to see Burks, Hayward, Favors, Kanter a lot more. We need to know who to keep, who to trade etc..... Burks has shown great improvement from early on.
Plus we have more great draft picks coming up. We are not going to find out until give serious minutes to these guys. I am done with CJ, Howard and reduce Bell a little (he has been great lately but we still need to find out).
Otherwise we will be in an infinite loop of a lot of young talent not giving them the keys. I like the OKC model better.
This year is just a tease. A dab of vets, a dab of youth = we suck. Since we are going to suck anyway, lets se the future...now.
I 'want' the same thing, but it's hard to bench those you're intending to trade, dumb down their stats, and get the value you're looking for ..
They don't show replays of this stuff, so I could be wrong, but it looked like Harris got fouled without a call on one end, within 20 seconds of being called for "fouling" Lowry on the other end with less contact.
Yet the Jazz don't shoot a single foul shot in the first half. Come on, there wasn't a foul on one single Utah shot for the entire half, for the team that takes it inside the most in the league? I don't believe it.

I also have to say that I liked a few new things that Kanter did tonight in addition to playing quite well in general. He picked up his man, Dalembert, up high and hounded him. Normally, he backs off, but tonight he got up in his face and caused problems. Second, even though he missed the dunk, he went hard and had some explosion and speed. I watched it again on Synergy, and it definitely looked like he got fouled on the play and he was holding his face coming back the other way like he got hit. So those were some pluses for me.
