What's new

Game Thread - Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Utah Jazz - Thursday March 15th, 2012

So are all the people who declared to stop watching the Jazz going to start watching them again? **** them.

I think most of those people were going to stop watching if the burks dnp's continued and kanter and favors low minutes continued.
Tonight those things didn't happen so its ok for people to be happy if these things continue and to be upset if things go back to the way they were.

I watched, just didn't post. I love to see us beat this team because I feel that we are in a similar path. Plus last time that ticked me off.

No CJ too? What happened?

Favors
Sap
Hayward
Burks
Tinsley
That line up was unstoppable tonight . Sap was loving playing with those guys.

Let down by standing pat, redeemed by
  1. CJ dnp
  2. Favors 16 rb, 4 bs
  3. Hayward 25 pts
  4. Burks 31 min 15 pts
  5. Millsap almost a triple double w/steals!
  6. Corbin drew up a genius play w/ .7 left
  7. Harris 18 & 4
  8. Kanter back to ~0.5rb/min
  9. 39% 3pt

It's almost a convincing argument that Bell and CJ have been showcased lately. I'm not getting my hopes up, but how else do you explain Burks 31 min after 2 DNPs?

Its so weird how sensitive everyone is about jefferson.
He struggled tonight but made few decent plays in OT. Its ok if he gets criticized when he struggles. Notes and craig, why so sensitive. I think he is a great low post player who is nearly unstoppable if he is not doubled. However his defense isn't very good because he is slow and limited while moving laterally and for whatever reason the offense is stagnant when he is in.

So to summarize: He is great 1 on 1 in the low post and he is getting better at passing, but the defense rotations and overall defense is better when he is out, and the offense flows better and is more enjoyable when he is out also.

Agree. I have defended Jefferson many times when he has deserved it. From what I saw tonight his effort was there he just didn't have it tonight and didn't deserve to come back in the game at the end of the fourth. Nothing against Al, but Favors was beasting on the defensive end and on the boards.

I think the opposite
Tonights game just shows that burks should have been playing all along.
And what did showcasing bell and cj get us exactly?

The amount of ragehate on Jefferson among internet Jazz fans is unreal. Somebody has to speak up for him. Jefferson rotated early and drew a very nice charge yet nobody around here noticed. He can't do that, see? Al also took less shots tonight and was looking more than usual to draw fouls when he did attempt shots. But again, don't talk about that. Al is a soft chucker and that's that.

It is very typical for these people to blame everything on Al and I simply point out how biased and agenda driven that generally is. If Utah had a rookie PG it would be Harris the lightning rod. It doesn't matter how good they really are, fans want all obstacles removed in favor of new players and draft picks.

Not to say I disagree with Burks getting minutes, but CJ has been playing great at home all season too. Glad we didnt play CJ tonight, because he probably would have had a good game too.

Well I guess what you want is for jazzfanz posters to point out every good play that he makes during the game.... Although we dont do that for anyone else.

When Al plays really well he gets praised, and when he struggles he gets criticized. Im not sure why that is so unfair.

I guess you and craig think that the Al haters only see when he misses shots, doesn't play defense, doesn't pass etc.
But the same can be said for you and craig.... You guys only seem to see when he makes shots, takes charges, and gets assists.

Myself and the majority of guys in this message board see both the good and the bad with Al.

That is the way of the forum man. Young guys mistakes are looked over because they are young, and their good plays are highlighted and praised. Veterans are expected to have good plays all the time, so little things they do are often ignored. Their mistakes are highlighted and focused on immensely though.

Nope!

You missed Iowa st just knock out the defending champs. They have a point power forward who is one entertaining player to watch! and right now Colorado (11th seed) is laying the wood to UNLV (6th seed)!

March Madness Baby!

A win against the Tpuppies just isn't that exciting. If you find it cool to beat a serial lotto team, that's cool. But for the rest of us, IT'S MARCH MADNESS TIME!!!

March Madness >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> over watching two crappy teams going at it.

I am happy that Burks and Favors got burn and kicked butt.

Personally, I think CJ should be playing over Raja. His complete inability to produce anything positive is unbelievable.

Fair enough analysis, although i think that craig thinks Al gets picked on a little more than he does.

Cj had vertigo. Injury not a dnp-cd

Like I said, not getting my hopes up, but how do you explain a career high in mins for Burks after 2 straight DNPs?

It gives me a glimmer of hope Burks might start getting the mins he deserves.

Are you serious that CJ didn't play due to injury? I was all excited and now im worried that when cj is ready then burks will be back on the bench for DNP's.
Hopefully he earned some more minutes tonight, but then again he has earned minutes all season when he had the opportunity and still has been in the doghouse.

sweet. Burks, Hay, and Favors with huge games. Too bad I couldn't watch.
I'm also LOLing over here that Cy has become the board historian.

Ya i feel ya man its nice burks got lots of minutes..... my point was that it should have been happening all along and that showcasing bell and miles didn't do any good.
