What's new

Game Thread: OKC @ Utah. 7pm MST

Second Burke after the first quarter looked great. He found a **** load of easy open looks for Favors and Kanter, and that crossover near the paint was sick, just sick. He was aggressive and drove the lane and was just a playmaker he was one of the keys to us coming out of that 17 point deficit. He was a real leader out there tonight.
Good post

I thought treys leadership and his ability to make plays for his teammates was outstanding. I'm way more happy with him when he is setting up teammates (especially our bigs ) than when he scores.
He just needs to shoot less and only take open shots...... set up teammates like he did tonight

less jumpers? yes. only when he is open. but he needs to take it to the rim. i wanna see his FGA to be around 15. we need trey to be aggressive. so stat sheet might say trey shot the most, but as long as it was around the rim, i'm 100% fine with it. just don't settle for contested long bombs.

I dont want him leading the team in shots. But im fine with you wanting him to. this is just something that we will disagree on.

Trey had a lot of good misses going to the rim. Ones that had the defense rotate to attempt to block his shot and resulted in easy putbacks for our team.

sent from a phone ya bish

Agreed, I think he should really be 5th in shot attempts behind the other 4 starters. The other guys are better shooters/scorers.

This is how I feel too.

More mike conley and less Stephon Marbury.

The only problem with screamers, especially at the pro level, is eventually the players will just tune you out....or choke you out (see PJ Carlesimo).

QS will have to pick his spots. Last night was a perfect one.

Most impressive to me was the leadership of Burke. He is still young, but really showed some heart and you could see him talking to his mates. He pushed this team (with help from Snyder) to a new level. Let's keep this going. One game does not equal a complete change, but it shows them what they can do.

Rudy Gobert played 16 minutes and led the team with a +23
Alec led the team in minutes (38), 3rd game in a row that he led the team in minutes, and was +20
Trey played 37 minutes and was +11

so much for people saying burks doesn't fit into the "system"

LOL

I think he will continue to have struggles and his adjustment period will take a while and be frustrating..... but i think he is talented enough that he will get there eventually and everyone will be happy with his contract.

We have no way of knowing how he is in practice or in the locker room. However, in previous games, he's seemed to be pretty calm on the sidelines. I think he took his shot and it worked.
