What's new

Game Thread: Utah Jazz @ NY Knicks 2/6/12, 5:30 MST

Jefferson's decision: Continue to force the baseline and hope for a foul call on a shot from under the backboard or pass the ball out to Harris for a wide open 3? That is what is called a no-win situation.

For the Jazz: 3 point shooting is important in today's NBA.

For teams everywhere: Road games suck. Lakers lost tonight in Philly and the Jazz are about to lose in New York against a depleted Knick team.

Our glorious record is about to go into the crapper. We've had a cute powder puff home dominated schedule. Now we're going to find out what this team is really made of.

and why don't you pass it out and reset instead of trying to back down for 12 seconds? Not inspired or smart play for the most part, but there's still time if they play smarter. Maybe.

Can't stand watching Harris, notice he is always wide open cause everyone knows he won't make a shot. Bell hesitating, Jefferson watching the ball roll by, Miles fouling, Burks is not playing. It's a disaster when Lin comes in and destroys the entire team. When are the trades going to happen? I'm so pissed.

Harris for an open 3???? Are you serious?

Oh, here come the Jefferson haters. Funny isn't it? I can't blame the refs, ,but you can all blame Jefferson for the loss...

VERY IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINTERESTING

By the way, How has Millsap done today?

Knicks have a pretty sweet strategy right now.

High pick and rolls with Tyson Chandler.

#1 If the Jazz stick with Chandler, Lin is going to quickly turn the corner going in for an easy layup.
#2 If the Jazz stick with Lin and let Chandler roll free, dunk.
#3 If the Jazz stick with Lin and cheat off perimeter players to help impede Chandler's path to the basket, perimeter shooters are then left wide open.
#4 If all the above happens and the Jazz perimeter defenders run out to close out on shooters? The shooters are then able to pump fake and quickly drive to the basket.

With all the shooters out there, it's creating easy lanes for guys to get offensive rebounds.

I think this just emphasizes the need we have of getting some perimeter shooters. Teams are cheating off Harris, Hayward, and Bell to triple team Millsap and Jefferson. They aren't even pretending to guard Harris.

also Jefferson doesnt play defense i dont care about offense.

Defense wins championships

This team is embarrassing and uninspiring to watch, first the raptors. Now the Knicks with no amare, no anthony. Come off a good Laker win and throw everything else away.

Geee, no over the back call before that three, and then another charge on an obvious block.

But it's all Al's fault. Can't blame the refs.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Jazz did not bring it tonight.

NY was much more aggressive, didn't turn the ball over, and hit some 3s.

We weren't. We did. We didn't.

They exposed our defense. While they made adjustments, went small ball, and burned us from 3.

We need 3 point shooters. A PG. And someone needs to get this team rdy for road games. Coming out flat on the road has been happening since Malone and Stockton retired.

Harris just doesn't know how to run the offense. Down by 9 with 60 seconds left in the game, and he just strolls up the court.
