What's new

Game Thread: Utah Salt Tankers VS. OKC Thunder Nov. 24th 5:00 PM MT

Thurls been doing the tv & radio bit for few years and he knows who signs the checks, that is the voice of experience.

Britton Johnson isn't as experienced ,he was very critical of the jazz and said that the players and coaches mailed it in. He went on to say the Jazz couldn't get good looks because of the thunders defense, but the explained that all the thunder did wad switch everywhere....daring the jazz to beat them. He scoffed at them, saying it was a defense scheme that took no preparation and that it was something you'd see in 6th or 7th grade basketball. But the jazz couldn't beat it.

I can regurgitate mindless stats but I think one play encapsulates the entire season.

In the second period Hayward came around Burke on a curl at about 3 quarters speed and the OKC defender slapped the ball off G-Time's knee and out of bounds. The camera flashed to Burke for about half a second and he had a look on his face like "what the ****".

It's readily obvious The Jazz are just waiting to get blown out every night - this mindset settles in earlier and earlier each game. They're just bad at everything right now.

I would like to have everyone come out that said that the Jazz would be better than people thought. I just just want you to know how wrong you were.

I thought the Jazz could win 30 - 32 games, but that was before they eviscerated the bench with the GSW trade.

I had no idea the Jazz were going to go for the kill with this tank.

There is no chance he gets a contract next year. ****ing zero.

Well if they do I will laugh my butt off listening to the whining and meltdown on Jazzfanz.

Guys this is part of the process. Teams who lack talent are going to get their butts handed to them. Besides most people wanted to see what the young guys have. Well we are finding out. Now we will see what they are made of tomorrow. Are they going to rollover and just give up or are they going to fight back and shock the world with a win.

Jazz had plenty of open shots in the first half been when you keep missing them how can you blame the coach for that. Now Ty needs to be blamed for his rotations but when guys shoot 25 percent in the first have with way too many TOs how do you expect them to win.

I thought the Jazz would win around 28-34 games but that was before the injuries hit. I was also counting on Rush playing and contributing and I thought the Core4 would be more consistent. I couldn't imagine how bad a shooting team this team would be. However, I humbly admit my error and ask forgiveness for my silly prediction. Was I wrong!

This little dig from ESPN:

MVP: Utah's tank caravan. On a night when Jabari Parker went for 26 points and eight rebounds for Duke, the Jazz can take renewed solace in their ultimate goal while hitting rock bottom.

Defining moment: A Durant 3-pointer that tied the game 3-3. It sparked a 92-70 Thunder run that Utah never recovered from.

Hold on there.

Of course I knew OKC would kick our ***, but watching that game tonight I felt like I was watching a feed the children infomercial.

I can blame him for burying his head in his hands. I can blame him for not inspiring his players to give what they can. I can blame him for playing Lucas over Garrett.

I can't blame him for the loss or even that we look terrible but I can blame him for clearly getting much less out of this team than they are capable of.

I am not one that rushes to blame a coach(I have defended TY) but come on did you even watch the game.

Seriously how many more games will Ty get?

Wouldn't be ironic if he's fired after the Chicago game??? Wow crazy would that be?

The Thunder started 1-16 with an average scoring margin of -12.35 in 08/09 (with Westbrook, Durant, Green, Sefolosha, Collison, Krstic). The Jazz are now 1-14 with an average scoring margin of -11.8.

Wonder if their fans all thought they were the worst team ever and had no talent. On paper, that team is considerably better than ours, yet was producing at about the same rate

This is nice, Gobert is the lone bright spot this week for me.

Hope that worked.

Loved the second one. I know those guys are scrubs but Gobert is 7 feet tall. Best moment of the night. They showed Favors reaction to this and he almost smiled.

Did Ian Clark make that pass off the backboard or is that a turrible layup?

Don't feel bad - The Jazz have to win 3 in a row just to reach my prediction of 4-14 at the end of November. Which at the time I thought was pretty pessimistic.

With us having 3 days off after tonite, I am hoping he is cut loose after the Bulls Game.

Regardless, we are hiring in a HUGE way. We are way more than a high draft pick away, unless they truly are a Lebron type and I do not think they are.

Look at our starters.

Trey Burke - Rookie. Will be an above avg PG, not a rockstar
Hayward - My opinion is he is better as a #2/#3 option. #1 way too much for him. (Plus I think he IS hurt...he isn't this bad as the last3-4 games)
Jefferson - Washed up Veteran
Marvin - Veteran that is OK.
Favors - Freshly signed future star ? I don't see it. Like Hayward, very solid, not a star

Alec Burks - Have a feeling going to start to be an NBA wanderer
Kanter - Not hungry enough for me. Takes plays off. I think the NBA is too much for him.

If we want to turn this around (we need)

1. Coach
2. High Draft Pick
3. Veteran Star

Just for starters
