What's new

Gameday: Jazz hosting Clippers 11/29 7pm (mtn) ROOT

I hope in a few years when the Jazz win the championship I can look back on days like today and laugh at myself for thinking the Jazz will suck forever.

Why would Charlotte trade a player who has 2.5 years left on his rookie contract for a guy with a half year left on his rookie contract who is a poor man's version of their best player? And to pile on also give us the rights to their draft pick?

Because Zeller sucks and they might actually like Kanter. It's a reach, I know, especially because they have that Vonleh dude sitting around somewhere.

Charlotte needs shooting, so we have nothing of value to offer them in a trade.

That sounds about right. I do actually think another team would take Kanter, I just don't know who it is yet.

I'm 100% positive someone would take him, but I'm not sure who would give up anything we want for him. We would probably just get long-term contracts dumped on us with a 2nd round pick.

That is when you know you are getting desperate, when you start mulling trade offers for Josh Smith.

Yes. Yes, it is. They're going to lose Monroe too in all likelihood.

Lol, Smith is shooting 30% from the foul line. Pretty foul indeed.

Yeah, that is probably what SVG wants. He doesn't want to start 3 big men. He wants less big men and more shooters to surround Drummond with. I don't think he really cares that much about Monroe or Smith.

So the Jazz are now 5-12, which was the best-case scenario that David Locke predicted. The Jazz have had a few spurts where they play with some energy and intensity. They just can't sustain it.
