GAMETHREAD: Jazz hosting Lakers - 1/16 7pm (mst) ROOT

Kanter is having a terrible game. Normally if his jumper isn't falling (definitely not falling this game), he usually lives off his offensive rebounding. This game, those cutbacks just aren't going in. I remember at least 2 or 3 instances he gets an offensive board, but just can't get it to fall. Some of that is unlucky, and it'll get better. I'm worried about how much he's settling for his jumper though...

Hood is looking to be a great rebounder for his position though. And tough and confident. If he can play consistent offense and defense, his other intangibles are already good to be in the league.

Looks like Kanter needs to come off the bench... imo.

Hood gunna be a steal if he can stay healthy. Does it feel like the Jazz are just being really cautious with him? I hadn't heard about injuries in college for him.

Improvement this game from Dante. I've seen him drive to around the free throw line twice before kicking out for open-ish 3s. Drive to free throw line is definite improvement from never venturing inside 3pt line. (not saying that sarcastically either haha)

Based on this game, it looks like Hayward, Favors, Gobert are the future. Hood will be at least a solid bench player.

Still need a guy who can create and shoot in the backcourt.

--It's funny, I have such a man crush on Rudy. I'm most excited every game to watch him and don't even think about Kanter when he's in.

--Watching Favors is a close second, since he has been so amazing lately. He rebounds the ball like a caged animal let loose.

--If Hayward's on, like tonight, his play is a beauty to behold because he plays such good basketball.

--Even though Trey's playing better, I don't like his style of play. I never enjoy watching him play for some reason, since he isn't a good passer and more or less a chucker. I'll take watching an aging Manu Ginobili any day of the week over Trey Burke scoring 30.

I really really want to see Kanter do well, but just hasn't looked good. People are saying he's getting a 10mil extension, but I just don't think he should be getting that based on what I've seen.

Hood could be good. He plays really confident to the point where his moves don't look fluid and somewhat forced or overly deliberate. Not saying its a good or bad thing though. Can't comment on how cautious the Jazz are being, not sure how serious plantar fasciitis is. Noah played through it for a while I remember, but in a lot of pain. Hope its not too much of a chronic thing.

Trey - seldom will make an extra pass, he will shoot.

Kanter NEVER passes. Favors and Gobert have been hitting wings for 3 all year. Not Kanter. Ticks me off.

Jeremy lin sucks.

Just remember,..... our point guard situation could always be worse

I'm at 9mins left in 4th quarter, and rudy made a beautiful kick out pass to ingles for the 3. I don't remember rudy having that many great kick out passes this season (maybe memory just failing me, i remember his interior passes more) so i got pretty excited at that
