Gamethread: jazz in Milwaukee playing "just one game" at 18:00

Another awesome game from the Triumvirate tonight

Watson 0-4, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 TOs, 3 steals, 0 points in 17 minutes
Foye 0-6, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 0 TOs, 1 steal, 0 points in 20 minutes
Marv 0-5, 2 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 TO, 0 steals, 0 points in 15 minutes

Combined 0-15, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 turnovers, 4 steals, 0 points in 52 minutes.

Must be that veteran leadership that willed Favors into an impressive start (so impressive he led the game in scoring yet didn't see a single minute in the 4th and OT)

And the Jazz have the most braindead coach in the league. Wonderful. If I were Favors I'd want to hightail it out of here. Why bother playing your *** off when your dumbass HC benches you for it.

The young guns made their mistakes, but damn if they didn't put us in a position to win.

If Sap makes that FT at the end of regulation then this game would have been a signature victory for the young guys.
I like the drive by Hayward at the end. Instead of settling for some contented jump shot he attacked the rim like a man.
I'm crushed he didn't get anything out of that. I thought Kanter was going to hit that put back too.

Monster game from Favors. Got to give props to him! I feel bad for those guys. They played well enough to win, but
the Bucks hit some clutch shots to steal it.

50 pages of posts and still climbing.

I think it's pretty obvious that fans really want to see the young players. At least they provide hope, energy, and enthusiasm for this team.

Funniest thing about people saying Favors will leave after one game is that a) he said he understood, because Kanter was killing it b) His contract is restricted, meaning we can (and will) match any offer.

Lets take a step back, and understand that our three big rotation KILLED this team. Kanter with 18/10, Favors with 25/13, Millsap getting buckets on iso. I think it is becoming more obvious who the FO should keep with every passing game that Al is out.

Just draft Trey Burke, and get this rebuild done with. I think were ready. I CANNOT, CANNOT wait for next season, after getting two more draft picks + the other assets we have at our use :)

Of course it is look a who produced:

Favors: 23 pts, 15 rebs, 1 ast, 1 block, 1 steal
Kanter: 18 pts, 10 rebs, 1 ast, 1 steal, 1 block
Millsap: 22 pts, 14 rebs, 3 ast, 3 steals
Burks: 19 pts, 3 reb, 4 ast, 2 steals
Hayward: 13 pts, 7 reb, 5 ast
Carroll: 13 pts, 3 rebs, 1 ast, 3 steals

That is the core you build off KOC...

The "I'm excited for next season" thing wore off two seasons ago. This should have happened the summer after Deron was traded.

Also, Favors can just play careful and take the QO next summer and say FU to the Jazz in the summer of 2015. I'f I'm him I do this so I don't have to play for a coach like Ty.

I'm excited for next season, too....until Foye is re-signed and Tinsley or Watson (or some other stiff) is brought back/in as the backup PG. Then the Jazz let Carroll "shop the market" and wind up starting Marvin with some other "veteran" coming in behind him.

Oh yeah, and Millsap gets his $48M/4 deal from another team, so Utah panics and gives AL $75M/5.

I know most of us are thinking along these same lines.

I hope Hayward never does that again. I remember in the triple OT game against Dallas last year (or however many OT's it was) Hayward tried to do the same thing at the end of regulation twice. Refs just aren't going to call contract unless it is near flagrant level. Hayward is awful at finishing with contact so the only thing his drives are good for are offensive rebounds. He needs to go to a pull-up or some kind of dish off.

Last night a pull up would have been ideal. He had enough room and with Hayward shooting that close it has a high chance of going in.

We should've fouled Jennings before he shot that 3 ball.
2 scenarios that can happen from here.

1- Jennings makes both free throws and we're in the exact same spot as before except we have an added 3 seconds to the game clock.
2- Jennings misses a free throw (he's 80% from the line) and have to win the free throw battle. But this is an easy battle to win. Here's why:
The Bucks are down 2 points. In order for them to win the free throw battle, they would have to make 3 more free throws than us and 2 more free throws to tie the game. The only caveat is that their best FT shooter is 90% and ours is 84% but I think the strategy is better than what we tried.

This big time.

However, alot of coaches would not have fouled in that situation....... But i think you should always foul. worst case scenario if you foul? You are still up 1. Worst case scenario if you dont foul? Game is now tied up.

I think this is something the organization needs to seriously address.
If you want to win, you add this strategy. If you want to entertain fans, you don't.

I am entertained by winning. Just sayin...

We actually had a foul to give so it would have made the Bucks inbound the ball again, which would have been great. Definitely a coaching era right there, but still Burks should have played him tighter and forced him to drive, then foul when he got past him.

maybe if Burks played enough last season and this season - he would be prepared to do so

You know what I meant.

Even better that we had a foul to give. Foul Brandon before he gets to his spot and then there's less time for Brandon to get comfortable.
