What's new

Gamethread: Utah @ Jeffersons Tonight 5pm or some such time

there aren't major difference between #2 to #9 pick in this draft. all have good talent. we should be delighted to pick a guy like aaron gordon at #7th

I think jabari (the projected #2 pick) will be much better than the #9 pick

Not many PGs who shoot over %40 in their first year. Only one I know is Chris Paul and he was on the lower part of the %40.

Seems to me that Trey is a superb knockdown shooter where other great rookie PGs are better all around scorers. Trey is surprisingly good at altering his body on drives to get good shots off, but what I'm really fascinated with is how deadly he can be from outside on very quick shots. You don't go under on this guy.

agreed franklin!

And we can only wait and see if he gets better. Too many saying we have no superstar type player and now we will never have one. That player is not for sure on our roster now but could be yet. Candidates IMHO are Burke, Favors, Gobert and Neto.

We seem slightly paranoid. We say we need the worst record in the league to have a shot at top 4. Yet get all upset that we might not be the worst and if we are not then we are screwed. Someone has to get the first choice, it's just a "Turkey shoot". Fact- As the season approaches half way the Jazz are a clear possibility to have the lowest winning percentage without the indignity of losing on purpose. What else could you ask for. Are ya all (tankers) feeling that you can weather all the losses without feeling bad about our team if you can be convinced that they lost on purpose? Not happening. Tanking in my opinion only happens over the last month of the season. Kinda jockeying for bad position as it were, just to increase the chances a bit. Until then i believe all teams are trying to solve their problems and get better. I know the "lottery" is not set up fairly at this time. No one is guaranteed anything no matter how bad they are. The league probably set it up this way just to prevent a season long tanking scenario. After all handing the #1 pick to the worst team never worked well. They (read Clippers here) were back year after year with very high picks and never improved much at all. That taught me that you build a winner using all avenues not just the lottery, and luck plays a very large part.
