What's new

GDT: Utah visits Tankers, Sat @ 8:30 p.m.

I liked Thompson around where we were picking, but didn't think he'd ever be this good. I honestly liked Burks a lot and was thrilled when he fell to us.

From what I recall, Burks got lit-up in some workouts and had tumbled as late as the 20's in some mocks leading up to the draft. I wouldn't say he "fell" to the Jazz at 12.

I also liked Thompson, and probably a little more than Burks as I've always had questions about how Burks' skill-set fits within a team that doesn't want him handling the ball all the time. But yeah, I didn't think Thompson would be this insanely good.

In my memory lots of mocks had the Bucks taking Burks at 10, but I could be wrong.

Ya I remember thinking he was suppossed to go in the 8-10 range and was surprised he was available at 12

Kanter, as a rookie was better than this year.

Where has his strength gone? Is that why we aren't even attempting to have him post up down low? Where were those sweet moves that he had?

I remember him smashing one of the best centers in the league, Andrew Bynum inside. Now, I don't even recall the last time he did anything inside.

If he continues on this route, he'll be that colossal bust we had all feared he'd be.

What, that up and under he did, every time down the floor? Then they figured out that was his only move, and didn't go after the fakes?

His shots were blocked at a ridiculous percentage.

I would much rather make a a play at Klay the kid taken AFTER Hayward. maybe we can make up for not drafting him over Hayward by throwing money at him in restricted free agency.

Uh...they're from different draft classes. This is Klay's 3rd season.

And yet, once again, the Jazz held their opponent to below their average in 3-pointers attempted AND 3-pt field goal percentage.

THE JAZZ 3-PT DEFENSE HAS BEEN WELL ABOVE LEAGUE AVERAGE THIS SEASON.

When you're playing a team that manages to score all of 88 points a game not much urgency to jack up 3's is there?

I'm wondering if he might actually be a guy to keep around.

Really though, I don't get why he gets so much hate. He had a bad year last year in a new system with big al, and what seems like an achilles injury he was putting off and dealing with. Why wouldn't you want to keep around a guy that can defend and shot the three. He's a great guy in the locker room too. This year we'll see if he can rebound from his surgery too.

If marvin is in the team next year then he will start ahead of jabari/wiggins so they can learn from the wet blanket while riding the pine
