George Hill coming to Utah

George Hill is most likely better than any player we would get in this draft, he fits a need, and he can play with all of our players. I'm ecstatic. Great trade.

G Hill has one year left at $8 Million, right?
I believe so.

I've advocated trading for George Hill in the past, but trading a lottery pick for an expiring contact is crazy risky. DL better be sure we'll retain him long term.

Also, the last time a team traded away a lottery pick for George Hill ended up regretting it big time (Leonard).

Whatever. I always thought Hill would be a good fit here.

Interesting move... I'll be all for it if we're also getting a late 1st back.

this is great, he is indeed near the end of his prime, but as long as he doesn't mind a mentors role, he can help Exum learn the NBA game and get us into the playoffs at the same time. Also, the Jazz needed to figure out how to get into the 90th percentile salery wise without overpaying a player on a multi year contract. This takes care of this for a year, and next year Gordo will opt out and need to be re-upped for more. All in all, a good move.

Oh, and historically, the 12th pick sucks. Usually.

This would have to be a good trade beyond just getting hill for the jazz to pull the trigger this early. The draft picks tend to go up in value during the draft.

George Hill is a great fit here, but what we paid was straight stupid (unless we get something back). George Hill played 34mpg and only got 3apg and 12ppg. Is he the model for Exum?

We are in win now mode. Awesome. What can we win now?

pretty much my thoughts. I'll start praising this if I hear news of another pick coming our way. If we can get Beasley in the late first, too, then this is great. Or a pick in 2017

I bet we just traded for George Hill in order to get rid off Hayward.

This could be a joke, but this could actually make some sense. If we were to trade Hayward, we would be doing so to get #3 and maybe more draft picks. We would also be losing a "veteran presence" in the lockerroom.

If we were to trade Hayward for #3 and Jae Crowder, we could still use the veteran presence PG to help Exum.

I'm surprised at the responses thus far. A dirt cheap top 10 (or so) PG for a meh late-lottery pick? That's a good trade for the Jazz. Pretty much the most exciting news we've heard in a long long time!

If we had George on this team last year I think we would have got the 5th seed.

More likely, we pick up Hill to appease Hayward. It's a win-now move, and I don't think the Jazz want to lose Hayward. Jazz did well to move #12. A whole host of teams are trying to move their picks.

If we don't retain Hill and/or get another pick, then we'd all agree this is a bad deal, right?

This trade is absolutely asinine, Very disappointed. Trey Burke status. 100% certainty that years down the line this will look foolish.

This move doesn't make Utah a threat to the top teams in the west. This is a move to appease the fanbase, baby steps type ****.

No way is this anywhere near maximum extracted value for the pick either.. This reeks of Dennis Lindsey playing favorites..

Wow ...#12 for George Hill,Larry Bird wants a more uptempo offense ....I guess Jazz stick to the NBA's slowest offense another season.

Really good move. George Hill is so underrated. Great defender, unselfish player. Can step up if need be.

Also means ATL is probably tearing it down and going young. I expect Horford to leave. Don't be surprised if they trade Millsap for future assets now.
