George Hill coming to Utah

Hill is a good player. While I was looking forward to the suspense of the draft, Hill should be good for the Jazz.

1) Being an all-star means jack****. It's a popularity contest.

sigh.

/conversation over.

It's like when someone says "the spirit told me"....

****, if that's the truth, no intelligent conversation is to be had.

Hill was the safe choice. That is why we made it. Hill is more profitable than Teague. Hill does a lot at a cheaper price.

Someone has to pay for the failed motor park out in Tooele. Looks like the fans just did with the Hill over Teague trade.

Let me put it this way:

With Teague, we have a legitimate All Star to build around. A guy who has led his team to 60+ wins. And if Exum pans out, we are great.

With Hill, we are probably a solid 6-8 seed. BUT, we still need Exum to be a superstar for this team to go anywhere.

Big difference.

Oh, also, I'd rather have Teague dominate the ball than Hayward. We have seen what Hayward can do. He is a very good player. But he is a #2 or #3. Teague is a #1. Teague has taken his team to the playoffs. Hayward hasn't.

It's different if its a one year rental tho. Much higher risk, you disagree?
Slightly more, but I assume you are talking about a long term injury that causes him to miss most the season. Those injuries for players can be detrimental long term. Injuries are always a risk. Unless a player has injury red flags you can't worry about that in a trade since that is luck. Chances of Hill getting a major injury are less than the #12 pick becoming better than hill. Plus rookies don't help you win. The #12 pick would not be helpful for a couple years. This team needs help now.

Haven't gone through this thread but I like the deal. Hill is better than Teague and fits very nicely here. Jazz are hungry for the playoffs. This is a type of move to keep drafted players here as well.

I don't know man. Hood and Hayward didn't make the playoffs. They weren't all stars. Teague was. Talent wins. GS had the best team. LeBron was the best player. Go with talent.

I get the fit argument...if you are contending. We aren't. We aren't very good. We haven't been to the playoffs in a long time.

This is a "let's go make some money" move. It's not a try to win a title move. It's a Utah Jazz move. Increase profits.

We will probably make the playoffs with Hill. Hill is a very good player. The Millers will make a lot of money off this move.

It's not a bad move. Not at all. But, it's not a great move either. It is what we do. Tank, but not all the way. Let Millsap and Kanter leave...not for Harden, but for some second round picks. Get a good player...but not the allstar.

You know this guy, right?

Oof.

This is a joke right?

If this trade makes us keep Hayward, it's better than anything available at 12.

I fully expect picks coming our way. Good trade.
If the trade is already good and the jazz did right by Hayward then why do you expect more picks?

The 76ers were involved in trade discussions for both George Hill and Jeff Teague up until the very last minute. In the market for vet PG.

Interesting that we got Hill.

vehemently disagree.

Did you watch the western conference playoffs and think "the Jazz are one piece away from being contenders" ??

I say "Help now" is a relative term, and I think Hill will help, with moral victories.

Everyone with half a brain knows this years squad was good enough to make the playoffs but was riddled with injuries. This type of move is totally excessive IMO.\

Tyson Chandler to the Knicks.. Thats what this reminds me of...

But short-term? G. Hill has long been ideal fit there. Jazz if healthy could win 50 games next year. Won 40 w/ injuries, awful PG play

Maybe we trade Hill and other pieces for Ben Simmons. How awesome would that be?

I think this trade helps the Jazz and believe that the Jazz will make the playoffs next year. If they don't, then the season will have been a complete disaster. For the record and for reference, I did not believe the Jazz would make the playoffs last year.

Where the **** did I say anything about contenders? Your losing it kid. Or did you respond to the wrong thread or log onto the wrong account?
