Turning Trey Lyles into Donovan Mitchell was a boss move.

Indicated they were also targeting another player in the Lottery, sounded like to me? from that little interview?

My guess is Monk.

Time will tell on Bradley.

Who had the best draft?

DL's game plan isn't hard to anticipate (it's how he executes it that shows his genius). Here is what I said a month ago:

"Hill's contract status, combined with Exum's slow development has left a huge question mark at point guard.

DL cannot gamble the team's success next season on Exum's summer work ethic; he must find someone capable of starting at point, regardless of Exum's development. If he can re-sign Hill, then all is well; if he cannot, then he must find another FA to plug the hole or make a trade. Furthermore, DL must decide whether to spend another draft pick (or two), trying to find our future point guard.

In other words, DL must make decisions today as if Exum wasn't even on the team. That is not a comfortable place for Exum to be, and I hope his agent is making this clear to him."

So the Jazz draft 2 point guards (still looking for that future pg) and I read in the Trib that they are still looking for a veteran pg via trade.

Mitchell will have to be pretty damn good to make up Lyles over Booker.

Example: If Booker is on the team right now that probably solidifies Hayward staying. A Booker/Hayward/Gobert core would have been so cool.

Booker sucks wang.

I heard that Denver called Lindsey knowing that the Jazz liked Mitchell and asked for Lyles.

So, good of Lindsey to answer the phone and say yes to a silly offer. Bad for Denver.

No. Passing on Booker for Lyles was a bad move.

However, as good as Booker is offensively, his defense negates some of that. Now we have a 2-way player in Mitchell, which is pretty sweet. Don't want to make premature statements about a guy who has yet to play in an NBA game, but I think sooner than later, we will be glad to have Mitchell instead of Booker.

Booker is still not that efficient offensively. And if we drafted him there's a Vance he would have gotten the Exum/Lyles treatment from Quin for his deficiencies and not gotten to jack up shots all game. Lyles might go to Denver and shoot like a maniac and average 15-16 ppg next year. Not sold on Booker yet, a lot depends if circumstance with these young players

Lindsey on 1280 this afternoon was pretty good. I would be a mess after the weeks of draft and free-agent prep and a long night of the actual draft.

He seemed pretty relaxed, actually relieved. Understandable since the draft broke his way again. I guess he can celebrate for a few hours before the big FA drama. Maybe he already knows what GH and GH will do, or maybe he already has a plan B.

He talked about teamwork and how it is unfair to ask the basketball players to sacrifice, communicate and work together for the good of the team if the FRont office and coaching staff aren't able to set an example. "It takes a good team to make a good team".

This is a MYTH.

If we'd drafted Booker he'd be riding the pine like anyone else until he was able to play to Quin's standard defensively. He'd be Trey Lyles. He's just lucky hes on a terrible team and allowed to jack up shots and play outside of the offense.
