"It's totally different," Gobert said. "I feel way better. My game, my confidence. I feel way better."
Part of that is experience and part of that is the team's new coaching staff. Gobert, as was the case with Trey Burke and Dante Exum earlier this week, lauded the freedom allowed in new coach Quin Snyder's offense.
"I think I will be better because I play with less pressure," Gobert said. "I just play. For every player, freedom is always better. … I was a little bit under pressure [last season] and I was a rookie so that was even harder."

I wonder how Kanter is going to like getting out of Corbin's prison?

First we have the Snyder quote in FIXED's sig that's an old Corbin play (There's a Favors .gif I made of it floating around here somewhere) and now we have Gobert preaching the French Liberation Front. I guess we can say goodbye to hopes of running a highly efficient Spurs style offense?

It will be nice to see the players thinking less this should immediately translate into better performances. I just hope solid defense doesn't get lost in all of this offensive freedom.

So far Snyder has said that Defense won't be forgotten, that playing time will be determined by defense.

Wasn't Quin calling out Burke after yesterday's practice by telling him in front of all of the reporters that defense is his top priority?

You've been excellent today.

like that elephant that was abused and in leg chains for 50 years that just recently got released from his nightmare.Freedom allows the confidence to return to these young players cuz they feel they are respected.

Hey, gobert does kinda look like that elephant.

Burke's shot selection at the end of last season was horrid - if "more freedom" to him means more freedom to jack up 3's then this concerns me.

Maybe they match Hayward because they feel he will easily be a 20,5,5 player in this offense? He becomes that Manu Ginobli-type player and lives up to that deal.
