Gobert rips teammates

I noticed that Gobert often motivates Neto, he is the leader of this team.

I think it is Snyder's task to energize the team.

Burks took 3 shots and played 13 minutes u gotta be heavily biased if you think rudy is infering he's the problem..

Burks has a decent shot, is freakishly athletic, and has a good attitude. I just don't think the way he plays is smart or team ball.

Good s*** Rudy. I like that he's speaking up. It's not like he's ripping them to rip them. He's taking a leadership role saying hey this is what coach is telling us to do and it's what we need to do. Much of the team has had stretches lately where they were lackadaisical. Someone needed to step up.

Yeah, he's talking about the guy who took 3 shots. The only other bad *** on the team. Lol dumbasses.

I'm sure Burks is a big part of what he's referring too. Didn't you see him yelling at Burks in the 3rd qtr after he threw an inbounds pass to Burks and it got deflected out for a turnover because Alec didn't come back to the ball?

Gobert wants to have teammates that play winning basketball. Both Hill and Burks are into hero ball.

We miss a Kirilenko type of player that can help the team to win games even without being considered on offense.

I'm glad Gobert made these statements before the playoffs.

I'm glad your glad he made these statements in the media. What good does it do to embarrass teammates in public. All that does is divide a locker room. Poor choice at how to handle things.

I don't agree.

You are wrong, he just wants to stimulate some of his teammates because he cares about winning games.

Burks wasn't ready to compete tonight, the players have to understand the importance of certain games and give something more in terms of effort.

I don't blame Burks for missing 3 shots, I blame him for his superficial attitude on the court. Lyles is the same type of player.

I don't mind it. He didn't name names, and if guys don't want people to speculate that he might've been referring to them, they can start playing harder.

Beats the hell out of a guy complaining to the media about his touches and having all the fans divided on how we need to understand his feelings.

Burks was moving away from the ball when rudy passed it (he shouldnt have made the pass or if he was going to then he should have put some mustard on it) and had to stop his momentum and come back to the ball (which he tried to do) and the defender was already headed towards the ball and rudy threw the pass way too soft.

This is now 100% Rudy's team. I have no problem what so ever with his comments. Karl Malone was the master of saying exactly what Rudy just said, and saying so during the perfect time so to speak. This team needs a wake up call and right about now would be a nice time to start showing up.

He's right, our offense has become one or two passes then a three or a missed contested layup. I even said it during the game in the game day thread that our passes looked forced instead of in a flow.

On defense I've complained all year how nobody is ever there to help Rudy. They expect Rudy to help but are out of position when the helper(Rudy) need help.

Good to see a little leadership.

Rudy Gobert finished with 35 points (on just 14 field goal attempts), 13 boards and 4 blocks against the Knicks. Here is the list of players who have done that since 1983-84:

Alonzo Mourning
Shaquille O'Neal

Yep, the "help the helper" that Harpring has mentioned many times.

More Gobert's interview :

"I think everybody needs to think about making plays for the team, making winning plays, before thinking about how many points we're going to score and stuff like that,"
"Everybody has to be ready to sacrifice. In the playoffs, it's not going to be pretty. There's going to be some games where you don't score, but are you going to take a charge for a teammate? Are you going to come and box out DeAndre [Jordan] for a teammate?

"It works with all of us. And we do it, we do it, but we do it by stretches. We need to do it right from the beginning of the game. I think when we do that, we're very, very, very good."

"Gordon is going to be fine, he's human. There's going to be some games where he don't make shots. I keep telling him to stay aggressive and try to make the right play and everything comes. I think he did a good job in the second half. We've just got to be there for each other."
If you hear all this it doesn't sound so bad

With Burks it's not the number of shots he took, it's the type of shots he took (weird midrangers with ton of time on the shotclock) + he had another boneheaded TO while trying to go through traffic of 3-4 people in the paint.

Looking at his full quote, it looks more mild and more like a general point about competing rather than him thinking it's someone specific. He's talking about everybody. If possible, this quite looks even better this way:
