Gobert update thread

Well, the jazz are below the salary floor, and were unable to get deals done with that space, so.... maybe what what the FO was assuming was full of lots of ****ty things?

I think Booker wanted to go to Brooklyn because he knew he would get more consistent minutes. He only signed a 2 year deal there so that read to me as he wanted to get a starting position to improve his value. He knew, and I'm sure the Jazz explained to him they wanted Lyles to get more minutes and they wanted to bring in Diaw's experience, so minutes wouldn't be guaranteed. I blame Lyles for being a bum this year.

Fairly decent source here. I'd guess Rudy ain't playing tomorrow.

Boooooooo!

Speaking of which, my voice is still ****ing gone from yesterday's game.

But I still think we win the game with Griffin out.

They didn't use that cap space. They obviously misjudged the market; swung and missed. Why don't you think that's a totally fair thing to critique them on? I can't figure out why this appears to be so confusing to you (and others).

Lyles has slid super far. But I've seen Sophomores who didn't prove much in college do this before. If I were building a roster for playoff success, then I wouldn't put many eggs in that kind of basket, particularly IF I WAS BELOW THE ****ING SALARY FLOOR.

I think it is fair to critique them. There are moves I wanted them to make. I am happy to talk about specific ones. I also think its fair to see the big picture. If they tied up cap space now they might not be able to retain the players we have that are going to need that cap space. They still need the cap flexibility in the future.

It is frustrating to have our best player out for the playoffs and hoping we had more depth to cover for that player would be nice but the reality is when your best player goes down with an injury you are going to struggle to win in the playoffs.

Any team in the NBA outside of maybe GS would be struggling to win without their best player. No realistic FA signing is going to make it okay to lose your best player in the first 10 seconds of the playoffs. Jazz could not prepare for that nor could any team.

It is going to be hard for us to win Game 4 now that it sounds like Gobert is out. We cant expect much more out of Hayward and Hill they had incredible games offensively and we still lost. The Jazz really have to have their best game of the season to win game 4 and maybe if Gobert is back for game 5 we have a chance.

Diaw said that Gobert is ok! It seems to me the Jazz management wants to be extra cautious with the injuries as usual.

If we lose tomorrow the series is gone.

Series is over if Rudy is out again. F***** great. We can't rely on the team continuing to shoot nearly 50% from the field and 40% from 3 with NO inside presence whatsoever and hope to win. A game is going to come along where those shots don't fall and that will be loss 3. Fml sucks so bad. We WOULD be up 3-0 right now with a healthy Rudy. Instead we're F*****.

Rudy doesn't guarantee a game 2 win
