GOP Debate Threads

Re Obama's presidency: I somehow thought halfway through that conservatives would be pretty happy with obama and the job he has done. He has basically been a conservative president, leaning conservative on most issues, and moderate on some. There have been very few actual liberal agendas. Basically keystone and gay marriage. Even the Obama care was a less liberal version of nixons health plan and romneycare.

If Romney or McCain had been elected, we probably would have had a similar outcome, but we'd be in a war with Russia.

Well we all know how many Americans died when Bush was running the show. I'd be fine with another democrat. Ideally Bernie.

I hardly ever come across a politician I agree with in both domestic and foreign affairs. Bernie fits the latter I'll give you that. What's toxic is to be a die hard party supporter regardless of what party it is. I would have been thrilled with a Ron Paul-Dennis Kucinich ticket back in 2008. The country would look much different now, in a good way.

What about his lies about getting awards in a Yale class that didn't exist? WSJ published an article on it.

Oh, haven't seen that yet. I'll look into it.

OK, looked into it. Seems pretty questionable. However, I haven't heard Carson's response to the WSJ article yet and the WSJ being unable to verify the story is different than being able to prove it false. (Granted, being able to prove it false would be nearly impossible.) Seems possible that Carson misremembered the course name, or something like that, so I'll be skeptical but withhold judgment for the time being. But either way--whether it's an honesty issue or whether it's a memory issue--is not a good sign for someone who wants to be President.

fox is more fair then most left media.

of course fox is "fair" to you when you agree with most everything on it!

This just shows me how narrow, and ridiculous your views really are. Fox is a horrible "news" outlet, as is MSNBC. The can be interesting yes, but "fair"?
Come on. They are both full of agenda under the illusion of news.

not saying for is fair.
i said fox is MORE fair then the left wing media.
never said they where fair/unbiased.

meaybe i chose wrong words. so thats a flaw i have. but i clearly said MORE.

maybe this will explain it

Ultra right wing -----------------------------Fox-------center--------------------------politico----- ultra left wing.
if you see aboe diagram fox is inbetween center en ultra right wing. aka they are biased.
but they have democratic lackeys like giraldo en juan williams ot balance things out.
politco does not have that is is far more biased than fox.

sorry for the misunderstanding

I used to work at a place that only showed news on the TVs in the break room. On one tv they had CNN and on the other they had Fox.

Fox news coverage is decent. They do have a different focus than CNN, but they are reporting news in a professional way. But one thing that stood out, at least at that time, was that CNN had a lot of news coverage and less commentary programming than Fox had, and Fox's commentary, debate and news entertainment content was pretty horrible. A lot of the time I didn't believe that the person speaking actually believed what they were saying, they just knew it's what their audience wanted to hear.
