Gordon Hayward -- best three point shooter in the 2010 draft class?

This is easy to explain.

Gordon Hayward recently got hot. He has made 8 out of his last 9 three pointers (one game he was 5-5) The entire season he has made a total of 21. This means that three weeks ago, Gordon Hayward was 13 of 37, or 35.1%

"The problem arises when people use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post: for support instead of illumination."

Gordon is a decent 3 point shooter. I'd still take Landry Fields, Gary Neal or Wesley Johnson over him (if we are just talking about shooting 3's.) For total # of 3 pointers made, Hayward is 9th.

"Recently got hot"...this is not a CJ streak we are seeing. He has been hot for a few months: Via @lockedonsports after the Houston game on Sunday:

Gordon Hayward just hit a three and since Dec 1st is 18 of 36 from three - that is 50%

He then went 2 for 2 last game making it 20 of 38 since Dec 1st. I'll take a three month long streak shooter over a player that doesn't even start a hot streak. The kid has upped his game and shows a lot of potential. I'm happy with the pick.

I'm not saying I don't like him, but 20 three pointers in three months isn't that many. David Locke is a master of manipulating statistics. And the fact that in the past two weeks Hayward has made 8 of 9 three pointers really pads that 20-38. Before it was only 12 of 31 (38 percent, which is decent, but 12 three pointers isn't fantastic.)

Gordon Hayward has been an okay three point shooter this year, but he's not fantastic.

I would rather see Hayward shoot the 3 than CJ right now.

There have been 50 games since Dec 1. You call 18 three pointers in 50 games good?

@loggrad98

how long have you been in Reno? JFFR actually stands for "Jazz Fan From Reno" I graduated from McQueen in '01, but went to college in Utah and been here ever since. I miss Reno, good town.

you have to do this on a per-minute basis. he was hardly playing in December through February other than the stretch when AK and CJ were both out.
