Gordon Hayward: Underdeveloped = Underrated

All I know is that only three players in the league averaged these stats 16.2pts, 5.1rb, 5.2as. LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Gordon Hayward. Then if you add in 1.4st, 0.5blks there's only one guy in the NBA they did that Gordon Hayward. I don't care what any of you say if that was easy to do 35 or 40 guys would be doing it every year. You don't know what you're talking about! If he goes back to his career average percentages he'll score over 20 a game. In a better system with better coaching you can expect everything else to go up as well. I don't even begin to see the selfish player you're talking about but I do agree with you that he plays soft when people poke him in the ear and he pouts way too much. If he can find his balls and man up and play with a little more excitement dude is legit.

2004 Pistons

I never was impressed by that roster

They got away by playing a dysfunctional lakers team.

Payton sucked
Fox was old
Malone was playing with a bad knee
Shaq was showing wear and tear
Kobe was traveling between Denver and LA

If that pistons team plays a healthy Malone and non-on trial Mamba? They lose.

If they play the defending champ spurs that year? They're waxed and it isn't even close.

Could we match Hayward at say 13M per and sign (let's say the Rockets don't match) Parsons at 14M per, and see how things work themselves out on the wing over the course of the year?

Burke (30) - Exum (18)
Hayward (12) - Burks (30) - Exum (6)
Parsons (30) - Hayward (18)

I would think Parsons can play some minutes at the 4 too, thus opening up some more time for some of these guys, notably Exum. Just a thought.

I'm gonna respond to my own post because this squad has me excited.

Burke (30) - Exum (18)
Hayward (8) - Burks (30) - Exum (10)
Parsons (20) - Hayward (22) - Hood (6)
Favors (30) - Parsons (10) - Kanter (8)
Kanter (19) - Gobert (17) - Tomic (12)

You are leaving out Hood. It would be an extremely crowded back court. But I'm not sure that is a bad thing.

I do like that team however I make a couple lineup changes. First I put Exum starting at the 2 in Hayward starting at the 3. With that I think our bench maybe the best in the league. Plus you forgot about hood.

Edited my playing time. Parsons playing 10 minutes at the 4 may be a stretch but he's a big 3. And Kanter would be the first guy in the core I'd take minutes from based on his defensive effort. And 27 minutes still isn't bad.

35 win team with no chance for growth.

No chance for growth? So at 18 years old Exum is maxed out? We can't expect Trey to get better after a rookie season? We can't expect A. Burks or anybody else on the team to get better with decent coaching? Come on man that may be the silliest thing you've ever said.

I think outside of his shooting percentage, He had a pretty good year. Maybe some better coaching and some confidence can fix the shooting. If they don't sign Hayward who will they sign?
