I don't post here much, so no one probably knows my views on Hayward. I have taken the view that many of you have had -- not thrilled with the pick, but lets give him time and see how he develops. However, with last nights incredible win, I think we are forgetting about the terrible 4 or so minutes Hayward had on the court. I mean Jason Hart was incapable of putting together such a bad 4 minutes. With pretty much everyone contributing a little bit to the team - from Elson, to Evans, to Watson and Price; Hayward seems to be the odd man out. Deron seems to be always trying to motion with his hands where he needs to be, he is always shaking his head when he turns the ball over, and just seems to have little patience for the kid.
I really think Jerry needs to send him down to the D-League and so he can get more experience and playing time. He has no confidence, and what's worse is you can see the embarrassment on his face every time he screws up. It's hard to watch! I'm not watching some awkwardly timed comedy where I can brace myself for the awkward moments, this is a basketball game, with professional athletes who screw up and don't look like they just farted in front of their 7th grade crush.
Anyways, Hayward, I'm not throwing in the towel yet, but the kid needs time in Orem or I think Deron will eventually eat him alive and Hayward will be no more.
