Gordon on moving to Celtics

I didn't say it's knockable. I just disagree with your statement that if someone tells the truth then you can't knock them.

My statement was that you can't knock a guy for telling the truth, not that if someone tells the truth you can't knock them for anything. Meaning there may be good reasons to be upset with Hayward, but being upset with him because he came out and told the truth isn't one of them.

What do you want to bet Hayward sits out the Utah game with flu like symptoms or knee soreness or some BS.

I do think the narrative that he never bought in to Itah is false. Dude gave us what he had for his time here. I appreciate it.

I wish he would have stayed and bought in to what we are building but he left. Not gonna kill him for it. Wish he would have been a little more direct with how he was leaning and the Fourth of July was a **** show. Again though... even that is okay because now I can feel justified in booing him and he gave us a villain to help bond the remaining guys.

I don't think it's a false narrative at all. I think Gordon has a lot of integrity, loves playing basketball, and his work ethic is top notch. I think he gave the Utah Jazz everything he had not because he liked it here, but because that's who he is as a player. Let's face it, his feelings about this place and the organization would have to be described as lukewarm at best. He never really publicly embraced being here and left an ascending team with good young talent the first chance he got.

I never liked the guy...glad he's gone. Karma is a bitch, something will happen to derail his career and I won't feel one bit bad about it. I'm kinda "torn" now as to who is the most sleaziest, dishonest former Jazz player ever: Fisher or Haywood. That's a tough one...

For 7-years the Jazz tried to manufacture Hayward the star. It was forced and awkward, just like his game.

Allowing the Jazz freedom to move on was a gift, even if he didn't intend to give one.

Jazz were once hamstrung with AK's contract, AK was a better player with a smaller contract.
Rather than envisioning all the possible ways GH or boston could fail, I'd rather say Thank You.

I just have a feeling we are going to come out of this a lot better than people think.

-Hood steps up offensive role
-Favors monster contract year
-DM
-Gobert
-Rudio running the PnR
-Ingles 3pt %
-JJ going back to small forward
-Exum looks ready to take a big step
-3 solid new bench additions

I'm pretty damn excited for the future. DM and Gobert are two stars in the making. We'll add another shooter via trade, or next offseason.
No reason to look back. We have a group that will play hard together, and be exciting to watch.

Oh shut the **** up everybody. The Jazz are in no way better without Hayward. Just because y'all are bitter doesn't change that he's a damn good player that will make every team he joins significantly better.

Under no circumstances would I ever pick AK over Hayward.

Wow! Monson is now the beat writer for the Celtics? I am glad you warned me. No way I go to Boston now knowing his flatutardo gas eruptions will now be fueled by mountains of corned beef and cabbage. Enjoy the crop dusting chowder heads!

At their best, I would pick AK a hundred times over. Transcendental player with a unique skillset.

That 03/04 season. Oh man. On a 42-win team, AK had more winshares than Hayward last year. He was fifth in the league that year. Read that again, fifth in the ****ing league! Andrei's +/- over 100 possessions was 8.2. Hayward was 4.2 last year. Value over replacement player? Andrei was 7.5. Everyone else on that Jazz team but Greg Ostertag(!) was under 1.0. Hayward last year? 4.0.

Also, take a look at rosters they both had in 03/04 and 15/16. Andrei led a roster of borderline NBA players to 42-40. Hayward couldn't lead the team to .500 the year before.

This is why I have so much hate for Deron Williams and hope he ends up a homeless alcoholic. Not only did he kill Jerry Sloan's love of basketball, we ruined a generational player in order to turn the team over to him.

AK never put it together on a consistent enough basis and his transcendental skills were of little use to us when he was sitting on the bench with back spasms or buckling under the weight of his contract. If you want to argue the player AK SHOULD have been vs the player who Gordon Hayward is, then you've got a healthy argument. If you want to argue the player AK actually ended up being vs Gordon Hayward, I don't think there's a GM in the league that would take AK.

So what is your prediction for Boston wins next year, in order to consider them significantly better? I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were just slightly better. We'll see, but he is coming in as the teacher's pet and there is already some resentment from at least one player with the way their fans were nobslobbing Haywood last year. I saw the interview with Jaylen Brown after they traded away Bradley, and I'd be surprised if it was just Crowder who was already bent out of shape over the situation.

Maybe it will all work out, but I reject the idea he would make ANY team significantly better. Chemistry is not always automatic, even for an ok/slightly good player like Haywood.

I see. Makes since
