What's new

GT: Jazz v 76ers | 12/28/15 | 7pm MST

all the Hayward haters have no f#^# clue about team basketball play, oh and yes he hit the crucial 3 .. take that bitches. We would lose half of our games again without him.

and scored 24 points, only had 1 turnover, 6 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 steals, and a block. Overall efficient night.

You wanted him to take more shots in Burks absence, it didn't work tonight. I hope he will shoot a better percentage in the next games.

Anyway I'm thankful to him that he made that 3....he saved his face and his teammates too.

I went to the game. They were switching Ish Smith on Hayward multiple times in the 4th. I was livid he passed out of it every time. He is 6' 175.

Also not happy QS was putting booker on Noel to get ooped on all night.

Besides that 13 assists is a crime. That is our biggest weakness imo.

It's good they could pull it out, and I'm glad Hayward was able to seal it.

Sixers made the calculation to double team Hayward and leave others open. We didn't make them pay for that.

I would guess this has been the strategy of EVERY NBA team we've faced this year. The Clippers did it, and it worked perfectly.

The fact is, without Exum, Burks, Gobert, and Favors, this team is outclassed by everyone in this league. Even a terrible college team like the Sixers can give us a game. Half our bench... Many of them starting right now... Wouldn't be getting any PT on any healthy playoff team.

I think fans should temper expectations until we get some of our best players back from injury. Until then, it's gonna be a bumpy ride. Let's pray that Hayward doesn't go down. If he does, we are headed straight to the lottery.

You mean without 4 of their 6 best players and 3 of their 4 best defenders the Jazz are going to struggle? In the NBA?

Foolishness.

Jesus that gave me the shudders.

Next 2 are @ Minny and v. Portland. Both winnable. Till tonight jazz had 2nd toughest schedule and have the 4th easiest to finish the season.

According to the announcers tonight...

The 2003 roster was predicted to be the worst team ever and they won 42 games with no star. The difference is we ran team sets that were hard to defend. When you just have to stop a ball handler (including effective on ball screen switches) your defensive job is pretty easy. Even with full strength, I am surprised we have won as much as we have. Give credit to the skill of our developing young roster.

Look at that roster compared to our noninjured roster. I think the current is better.

I don't disagree.

But let's also consider that having a stretch 4 like AK47 balling out created mismatches that the NBA hadn't seen in that day. What Green does to the Warriors today is what AK47 was doing for us back then. It feels normal now to have a quick 4 now. But back then most 4s were strong slow and powerful. Having Ak47 balling out that year created so many mismatches.

How much one on one scoring did AK do? IIRC correctly, it was mostly done through Sloan's offense or scrapping. AK wouldn't score well under our current screen and dribble system.

I was hoping Qs system would get better this year, but it has regressed.
