What's new

GT: Jazz v Pacers, Sat. 12/5/15 @7:00pm

I enjoyed that as well. Not sure what it has to do with my post you quoted though
Because while PG may have had a better shooting game, Hayward is the one who made more winning plays in OT where George threw away the game on both ends. He had a huge turnover in OT, tripped over his own teammate's foot that resulted in a Hayward dunk, fouled Hayward with 3 seconds on the clock while he was behind the halfcourt line, and looked generally frustrated by Hayward's physicality. Im not sure George even scored on Hayward other than getting fouled on that three in the first quarter.

It was a really bad day all around for the refs both teams had plenty to gripe about.

Thought it was amusing to me to see the refs have to replay the PG flop over and over only to see no contact was made. I'd have been very embarrassed to have been a ref looking at that replay. PG better find his pockets a little lighter by the end of the weekend.

And Hayward won both games this year.

Hayward > George.

George holds a L because Hayward handled him in OT.

Watching live my jaw dropped when PG committed one of the worst fouls I've ever seen on tv. Hayward was a good ten feet behind backcourt. He may be the reason for overtime, but he's also the reason they lost.

Wasn't that what lead to a Trey Burke jumper that put Utah up one?

Yes. It was one of many really bad plays George made late in the game

Statements like this are so bunk man. Both players have entire careers ahead of them. Both have had good starts, in different environments. Hayward actually looked better defensively tonight, and he's easily the better passer. George is the better scorer, as of this point.

Let them both play out their careers and we can compare later. If Favors can overtake offensive option #1 status on this team in his 6th season (something no one saw coming) then it should teach us that the jury is still out on these young kids.

I didn't say anything about the future but George had an incredible night and is having an incredible season. He would be the story of the season if it weren't for that one guy in Oakland. It's fair to compare them at this point in their careers, George is the better player.

Sure Hayward has the sweep (yay) but George's Pacers are one of the best teams, not only the East, but in the league to start this season.

Are we a better team if we put George on this squad instead of Hayward? Is Indiana better?

Both players are different stars.

Hayward fits Utah. He is ver unselfish. What other Max player do you know who does not complain not getting all touches down the stretch. Hayward wants to win If someone else is hot, he goes with it. Hayward's mere presence makes the other guys play better. Locke said we are +10 better offensively with Hay on floor.

PG is great for Indy. More typical start who takes over(good or bad) and so goes the game. Nothing wrong with it. Just different.

I think both teams picked the right guy and I wish them both well.

I noticed Hayward actually hugged PG after last rites game. He almost never does that with any player as he is usually 1st one off the court so I have a feeling they are buds.

I agree they fit. Are we a better team with George? If you're saying no you are delusional.

No. He's better suited coming off the bench. Both Hayward and Hood need to have ball in hand to be affective. Adding Burke, who needs to dominate the ball as well is too much. Burke is better utilized off the bench to handle the ball and added scoring punch off the bench. Look at last year. Burke was a complete 100% train reck in the starting lineup. He was much better immediately being moved to the bench.

I actually see Neto as being a very good backup pg in the years to come for Utah. He can play in this league. Let's not forget how good he was yesterday. In his limited minutes. He played more limited minutes but think in the long run he's better then Burke. Not hating on Burke. I've been happy with his play, but his ceiling is more limited then Neto's in my view due to Burke being more of a sg in a 6-0 body with limited athletic abuilities he's a career backup second unit guy with some scoring pop. I agree and support Quinn's choice to start Neto.

Second this lolololol

First people who aren't "hating" don't have to mention that they aren't hating.

What does what Burke did last year have to do with this year? He has done a great job making plays for other this season. Neto handicaps the offense because teams don't have to really defend him. Burke was given point guard duties the last two games with extend mins and has 13 assist and 3 turnovers. Neto should be playing with Burks. His inability to create space hurts Burks far less than Favors and Hayward.

Saying Burke needs the ball is a conplete contradiction to the stats. Somebody in the Burke>Schroder thread made an argument that Burke was really a 2 guard because he was shooting so well from 3 in catch and shoot situations. That in of itself goes to show you he doesn't have the dominant the ball to be effective.

Something about saying George is "easily the better passer" leads me to believe you have probably watched 2 Pacers games this season.

Burke is coming around very well. 7 assists with 0 TO's and 19 pts are starting PG numbers. I love his ball handling too, he dribbles the ball very close to his body that's why you won't see many players stealing the ball from him. I would say he's definitely making a case for starting the way he's been feeding the ball to our franchise player.

Lawd have mercy.

People saying Hayward is better than George. The homer is strong in here.

Hayward is more versatile in my opinion, better distributor, higher basketball IQ; PG is more athletic and a better shooter. PG is better but Hayward is not far behind overall, IMO.
