No not transgender, but transgenders. While not as offensive as the term tranny, I still find it offensive. We are transgender people. Transgender is a term that describes part of who we are.

Oh, ok, got you. I find the word, "straights" to be really offensive now that I think about it.

Isn't that kind of like being upset for being called basketball players if you are a basketball player? I understand that it's not all a person is, but if we're talking about celebrating a certain thing, wheres the beef?

Sometimes people actually go out of their way to be offended. It's sad, really. I mean, I totally get why "tranny" can be offensive, but saying the word "transgenders" is offensive now? Come on human beings of all kinds, give me a break.

Even that is just a shortening of the word isn't it? Like instead of "Star Trek Fan" - Trekkie (guilty as charged)

But even that could be offensive under Katie's definition. An American is only part of who I am. I don't get this stuff.

So I take it you're backing off your position that any opinion is de facto not trolling. Too bad, I had something up my sleeve that would have really enraged you.

He's already received a warning in this thread for inappropriate, insulting, and demeaning content. He's continuing down the same line of thought that got him the warning. I'm not exactly way out on a limb.

This board's culture is so frequently socially regressive that I'm ashamed to be a part of it. But hey, I'm glad that every few months we can reliably have a "pick on transgendered persons" thread while the usual suspects rally around and argue that they have a legitimate opinion.
 
I think the best purpose of events like these is to raise awareness about differences in sexuality and to let kids know it's not okay to make fun of people who are non-hetero. I just read an article in the SL Trib about some horrible guy who beat the **** out of a gay man and shoved a ****ing tire iron up the dude's ***, puncturing his liver, and eventually beating him to death.


Let's not do this sort of thing anymore, mmkay? You may not understand LGBTQ lifestyles, but what happens between consenting adults that doesn't hurt anyone else is nunya bidness.
