Name one thing that you are thankful for, that hasn't been mentioned by someone else in the thread so far.

I'll start: I'm thankful for my family.

Not to give away too much info about myself, but I'm thankful for the medical team who will be performing heart surgery on me (specifically, coronary artery bypass graft with endoscopic vein harvest) next week.

Wow, hope the surgery goes well.

I'm thankful that I don't have to have heart surgery next week.

Best wishes for a successful surgery, and a speedy and full recovery.

Happy Thanksgiving, guys.

Good luck, gandalfe. I'm at the age(49) where several of my friends have had successful heart surgeries too. Amazing stuff and definitely a good thing to be thankful for. My wife has her second neck surgery(fusion) in the last three years coming up on December 14. I'm going to echo you and give thanks for medical professionals. And dogs.

I'm 50, and I have had a little bit of angina last winter, so I decided I ought to get it checked out, given my family history (every uncle, both grandfathers, both parents...). One of the arteries is about 70% blocked, and it's a long blockage. so just doing stents isn't an option. So, yeah.

But other than my heart, my diabetes, and some lumbar arthritis, I'm in good shape - lungs are fine (after smoking for nearly 35 years!), the ejection fraction (basically, how much blood the heart pumps out with each pump) is very good, everything else is good shape...

I'm thankful that I live in a country with a stable government. And even though I dislike the current president, I can rest assured that he will be out of power in either 2020 or 2024 (if not sooner due to impeachment).

I’m thankful for the squeals of “Daddy’s home!” and hugs at the top of the stairs I get everyday.
