So, having been really big into movies in the 90s but not keeping up much with movies after that, I'm pretty good on my 80s/90s movie knowledge and trivia. That said, I'd never seen St. Elmo's Fire, and finally got around to watching the first third of it last night. This song popped up in the background, which I immediately recognized:
Having heard this many times, I couldn't put my finger on which other movies I've heard this in, so upon searching, I found out that this is literally titled "Love theme from St. Elmo's Fire," which doesn't make much sense, as you probably wouldn't be putting a tune called that into other movies. When I google it, I don't find much info other than the artist and no references to pop culture besides the obvious. Was this commercially released? Why do I know all the notes of this song but it's so scant on info of where I've heard it?
