Doesn't have to be exum.To that I say:
So are you all in on Exum to be the guy? Sounds risky.
And if you are waiting for the injury free season to make the jump then you will be waiting for a long time.
Doesn't have to be exum.
Just an ok pg.
The reason we are not as good as you expect is our pg's are worst in the league and our injuries are worst in the league.
Give us a normal amount of injuries and an average pg and we probably look as good as you are thinking we should look
This is what u get with one of the youngest teams in the league. Teams don't usually become great over night, then add the fact we've been riddled with injury from our best players, then add the fact we don't have good pg play.God damn. This is awesome, but also pisses me off.
Why aren't we better?? Remember Haywards slump at the beginning of the year? He's obviously out of that. Hood is playing great. Why can we still not close out games? Why do we just look plain bad every couple of games?
You can blame inexperience and injuries I guess. But something just feels off. I watch with my friend and I tell him 'I'm 100% positive we will lose this game' if it's within 5 points with a couple minutes left. You can just feel it coming, and I'm always right.
It's frustrating as hell.
I'm happy with the players, and I guess I'm happy with the direction. But I can't be the only one who feels like it's just not quite coming together. We should be better, that's all there is to it. Is this a classic 'less than the sum of our parts' situation? If so, who is to blame?
We have to beat the Bulls tomorrow. Have to. We're too far behind the eight-ball already.

Actually not really healthy.Hopefully.
We are healthy now, so it'd go a long way to have a nice run starting right about now.
Otherwise it's another 'next year is our year.' Thing.

(Burks and exum are out)
But ya, I noticed that once favors and Gobert were both back we went on the first win streak that we have had in a long time. We look much better now. Which is to be expected when we are healthier
No Burks and no Exum? I'd hardly call that healthy. Without a move for a PG, DL will effectively be saying "next year is our year." Or the one beyond that if he fails to make any moves to strengthen the bench.
I'm counting Exum because Lindsey failed to get an adequate replacement. With Burke and Neto as the PG's, I expected AT BEST, the Jazz would be a .500 team. Burks surprised me a bit (and Quin) when the Jazz were utilizing a 3-wing line-up. So yes, still miss him, I expect .500 or slightly better the rest of the way.C'mon now. You gotta roll with the punches. You really want to still count Exum? When he hasn't been a factor since well before the season even started? The only reasonable injury to count right now is Burks. And he's about the 4th or 5th best player. Hardly catastrophic.
If everyone stayed healthy, and we get Burks back when we expect to, what are your expectations for the remaining 37 games? We are 20-25 now, finish the season at .500? Above? Are you satisfied with less than 40 wins? This is important.
Let's say our injury situation is average or normal this year. So say Burks misses 25 games, exum misses all 82, hood misses a couple.C'mon now. You gotta roll with the punches. Favors, and Gobert never get hurt.
Even with those injuries and us being very very young and having horrible point guards I would guess we finish with 45-50 wins and compete for homecourt advantage in the playoffs.
Not bad huh?
I have a feeling we're going to move from the "they're too young" excuse right into the "they're old" excuse. This is what u get with one of the youngest teams in the league. Teams don't usually become great over night, then add the fact we've been riddled with injury from our best players, then add the fact we don't have good pg play.
Despite all of this mentioned, we are still in the hunt for a playoff spot with all of these distractions. Says something about the direction of this team. They are learning to play through diversity.
Dooooooood!!! We are tied for the final spot in the playoffs. Plenty of season left.
I'm gonna say 46-36 paceNope. But also seems unrealistic.
Do you think we finish out the year on a 50-32 pace?
Exum will be an immediate upgrade due to his defense and ability to move the ball. He's also a full-time scoring threat due to his ability to get in the lane.
All in? Not sure.
Actually not really healthy.

Was going to say the same. OCCASIONALLY, Exum would find an open player in the lane, But generally Dante would just continue his dribble until he was outside the paint again and then pass off to a wing. Have people forgotten Dante averaged 4.8 pts (on 35%/31%) and 2.4 assists in 22 minutes?Exum is not at all a scoring threat. His only option in the lane was to pass it and more than half percent of his offensive type was spot-ups.

He wasn't last year. Was probably the youngest, or close to. Plus, he hadn't played for close to a year before his rookie year. Also looked way aggressive, and in attack mode in his one SL game. Yes, I know it's just summer league, but u could see he had a different swag to him in that game.
He's long and quick as hell, and I expect him to be stronger quicker and a different player.
