What's new

Hood went from number 1 option...

He did it to himself. He underperformed in his role as a #1 on the Jazz, then complained when his role changed, then requested a trade, then complained about his role on his new team by refusing to enter a playoff game in garbage time. I mean, I don't really feel bad. He put himself in this spot. Hopefully he finds success in the future though.

I feel bad for the dude. He probably lost himself like $70million this year

Yeah poor guy. I can almost think of no one worse off in humanity.

His agent? Think of how much money that guy lost.

Hood had the chance to be the #1 option for Utah. Then he was a starter for Cleveland for a number of games and couldn't perform. I doubt Cleveland wants him back; he's not worth the tax penalty. And that would have held true even if he were a minor contributor. Hood's best bet is to sign a 1 or 2 yr deal to rebuild his value. I doubt he even gets an offer at the MLE.

He can rebuild his value in Phoenix.

It just goes to show how without the "intangibles" you need to have a massively good specific skill to be on the floor... in an era where players are categorized à la Brad Stevens : point guards, wings (smallish and biggish) or centers, you can't be a wing who needs the ball in his hand but has average handles and doesn't defend well... Hood needs to rebuild his approach of the game from the bottom up.

Hood still has the ability to get hot on any night, and carry a team to victory.

I'd still have him in the rotation. If hes on give him minutes.

While he was here, having Rudy between his man and the rim really helped hide some of his defenseive deficiencies. In Cleveland he never get's a chance to get in rhythm on offense because LeBron has the ball all the time. Not sure where he can fit but he has to find a way to defend better or Phoenix may be his only chance.
