How much better will we be than last year?

Favors is at a ridiculous 5% body fat, Dante is being touted as the X-factor, Grayson Allen is the "talk of the town" after day two of training camp, AB is coming off a great ending to last season, Rudy is looking prime, Joe is looking pasty, semi-hairless and soft(in other words, great), Don-darling is a social media and marketing hit(and ready to cash in superstar-style), Crowder is at 7% body fat and ready to love basketball again after a tough personal year, Ricky is one of the "6 Most Intriguing Players This Season" according to ESPN's Zach Lowe, Rolls Royce is a two-way threat and ready to show and prove, Udoh has slimmed down, Thabo is ready to do whatever it takes, and Gorgeous Georges is putting in work for the Niang-gang.

Can we take it to the limit?

Completely depends on their health, but if we get lucky with no significant injuries, they could flirt with 60 wins and the #1 seed in the west. Even if they have injury problems, I think 2nd or 3rd seed is doable. They almost made the 3rd seed last year, so I don't think I'm even being that much of a homer.

The bandwagon is about to take on a ton of passengers. Crazy, but I agree that we could lead the West. I was thinking that just with last years team we'd be in the 55-58 win zone. That was before the guys looked so prepared physically. And the recent praise for Grayson is especially exciting. He could be a playoff stud/irritant.

Since it's been his style all summer Gobert should come out of the tunnel for the first home game shirtless and flexing, just to let the league know what's up.

I think we have 55 wins and make it to the western conference finals.

Jazz will be 1-2 in the West and the stupid media will act shocked, wondering how the Jazz 'came out of nowhere'. They'll be shocked with Exum's play, citing what a disappointment he'd been in the past and will say moronic things like, "Who in the heck is Royce O' Neale?'

Go back and look at last year's metrics for success as they related to Rubio's performances. We were very good when he was good. I suspect that even though we are deeper at guard (and, therefore, not as beholden to the dynamics that those metric measured), the same will hold true this year to some extent. In other words, if we are going to reach beyond last year's success, I'm looking primarily at Rubio. (Everyone probably knows I'm a big Rubio supporter; I think his improvements last year were real, and something that can be built on).

I'm also looking at Exum to see if 'this is the year'. We need to limit our scoring droughts, and I hope Dante can help.

I'm trying to limit my expectations of Donovan...... what a stud..... But if he starts hitting pull-up 3s, then the league better start worrying about the Jazz.

These are the top three things I'm looking at RE: improvements from last year.

These things and on a secondary level what we do at PF will be fascinating. I like having Favs and the small ball options... seemed like Favs was one foot out the door and something clicked in and he really seemed to buy in. He wasn't dogging it but mentally I felt like he really committed to the team and what we needed from him. When he had to step in as a starter he was obviously fantastic.

I've long thought that we go a different direction at that position in the future and i think there will be opportunities to acquire guys like Tobias Harris during the season... but I'm not sure the long term solution is to let Favs walk for a stretch guy. The long term plan may be to be able to play big and use bargain options like Thabo and Jae as stretch options.

I expect 50-60 wins depending on health and luck.

1) Healthy
2) Rubio plays 2018 style
3) Donovan doesn’t regress.

If these things happen, I think we win 55-58 wins...if Donovan improves, and some of the OP’s comments translate on the court, I think we can win 59-62 wins.

Favors starts hitting the 3 at 34%+, we can win 63-64 games.

This is about right.

I think their ceiling is about 64 wins, the floor is 54. I think 56 to 58 is very realistic. 60 is reasonably within reach.

Of course, it all depends.
