My support has always been kinda mediocre. He seems a nice fellow and gets his guys to play hard more often than not, and that will usually give him the benefit of the doubt.
The pace has always been extremely frustrating tho. I don't get it why he doesn't emphasize running and playing in transition to get easier shots (more points, assists, and rebounds for all the players too).
I suppose it also doesn't help his case with me in that I happened to observe the strategies of a far superior coach (imo) coaching my favorite college team around this same time (Fred Hoiberg - coaches Bulls now). And they really emphasized pace
He's focusing on defense that doesn't transition into offense. The Jazz have a top notch defense. The grinding offense is working to get open shots.
