How the Western Conference is Shaping Up

Injuries have been a huge factor this year.
-- If Kawhi is healthy the Spurs are very likely top 3.
-- If Mike Conley were healthy, the Grizz probably wouldn't be tanking.
-- If Jimmy Butler didn't get injured, Minny probably stays in the top 5 or 6.
-- If Boogie Cousins stays healthy...well, who knows?

If Gobert didn't miss a bunch of games, we'd likely have a few more wins.

Wow, this thread was fun to go back and read. The West looked so intimidating in the off season (and still does tbh), and yet even with the Gobert injury, and the fact that we’re leaning on a rookie, here we are.

Neither will win, but when you really stand back and look at everything that has happened, Quin should be COY and DL should be GMOY.

Utah’s just gotta stay above the 7 seed and the playoffs should be very interesting. Whether seeded 4-thru-6, I see Utah winning a 1st round playoff match-up. Then, you get GSW or HOU in the 2nd round and who knows? A twisted ankle here, and tweaked knee there, and all of a sudden a series with Utah can turn into a very nasty dog fight. Survive and advance baby.

That is true. If you always predict negative you will sometimes get it right. But he also thought last year with Hayward we would be an 8th seed at best.

Like Siro said..... hater.

Let's be a little more realistic here. Ron quoted SOME things that were out of context to get his point (that were later clarified).
Here some points that I'm 100% correct so far from the posts that I made:
1. I knew for a fact Hayward was leaving a year+ before free agency.
2. I'm a 100% correct about the Jazz being completely garbage without Gobert (We were 2 games away from being literally the worst team in the NBA before his return).
3. Called 2-2 against the Nuggets
4. Potentially 2-2 against he Blazers.
5. I still think the T-wolves would be slightly better if Jimmy didn't go down. Same could be said for NOL and Spur (they're still putting up a fighters chance to get into the playoffs without star players where we were absolute trash without Gobert). We would 100% be one of the worst teams if Gobert was still out (called that and was proven).
6. Called Hood was garbage, still is (was LITERALLY the worst defensive player on the Jazz).
7. Called Burks was garbage and won't play, still is and isn't playing.
8. Called Donovan would be great. He is.

I'm not "hating" on the Jazz. I enjoy the Jazz, I love watching the Jazz, and I hope they always do well but some times some fanz need a little dose of reality and I'm not afraid to say it. We MIGHT get the 4th seed, I HOPE we get the 4th seed but losing Hayward for literally nothing is still a step back in any shape or form. We would definitely have more wins if Gobert didn't get injured but that could be said for the Wolves, Spurs, Nol, Warriors, etc... The fact is, injuries happen and it's always going to happen. It's "next man up" and we literally do not have anyone on our roster comparable to the impact of Gobert if he goes down.

On another note, I need to bump up old posts to say "I told you so" or I could bump up a WHOLE lot about Hayward and Broncster ;)

I'll never respect someone who refers to other people as garbage.

*Is not a very good basketball player.

Is that better for you?

I'm obviously NOT referring to their character, life, personality (or anything of the such) as trash but the way they play basketball. I'm sorry I had to clarify. I thought that would be pretty obvious seeing as we're on a BASKETBALL forum.

Yeah, you don't bump things you just keep them as your signature... lol. Part of which you where wrong since you not only disagreed with me that Hayward would stay but also that we would make the playoffs last year. Also Hayward didn't suck last year he was good. We are doing okay with out him because we have other good players.

I don't take those quotes out of context. You said I was crazy and laughed at me for saying I thought the Jazz would be about the same if healthy as they were last year. They weren't healthy this year and we are going to be about the same seed in a tougher conference.

It's okay, I'm wrong all the time. That's a part of sports. You have been wrong two years in a row about the Jazz and how good they would be, NBD.

I find it odd to be so negative about your own team since it's just a silly game for fun but I guess to each their own.

Who's more negative in game chat yamers or shad? It's close.

Balance in all things my friend. You have to take the good with the bad. There isn't always going to be butterflies and cake in everything and I'll be the first to bring things back to reality whether something meets, exceeds, or decreases. You have to look at ALL prospects and not only the positive. I don't necessarily agree with that making someone "negative" but more of a realist. If someone is playing bad, and it's pointed out. That doesn't necessarily mean that person is a negative person but is stating a blatant fact.

If someone is sitting at work doing nothing productive and YOU state that. YOU AREN'T being negative, you're stating a fact. They just aren't doing any work

I can't tell you how many people in chat say ""X" PLAYER SUCKS TONIGHT." ""X" PLAYER NEEDS TO PLAY BETTER DEFENSE," "WOW, "X" PLAYER CAN'T SHOOT" or ""X" PLAYER IS LOSING US THE GAME, GET THEM OUT." Just about everyone I see in chat does it. Does that make them negative also and/or is that stating a fact?

If they do it all the time, they're negative. And i don't see any response to Ron's list of the endless things you got wrong. Was it a fact that the Jazz would barely capture the 8th seed last season?

Is it a fact you'd get every prediction right? Or anyone else?

I 100% agree with Ron that nobody will get everything right. That's just a god given fact about life. In fact, I don't do it all the time but unfortunately negative things are remembered more than positive (or reported) and that is a fact

Your predictions are often extremely negative, and just as often wrong. Has nothing to do with being a realist.

No one ever said that you are never right. Just that you are a hater (someone who seems to love to talk about the negative aspects of the team more than the positive)

Your post kind of proves that.
You listed 8 things. 1 positive.

Shad gonna Shad. It’s all good

This post is correct and makes sense.
You like to point out things that are facts, just tend to always point out the negative facts rather than the positive. Kinda why you come off as a hater tbh.

Do those people in chat also say just as many positive things? Or, more positive than negative things about the jazz? A fan would typically be inclined to point out the good of the team more often than the bad I would think.

I think we all say negative things about the jazz and their players. I have recently been pointing out how poorly Royce has been on offense lately. I also definitely say more negative stuff than positive stuff about dante and therefore understand when someone calls me a dante hater. I kinda am and I hope he makes me look foolish someday.
But I post way more positive stuff about the jazz cause I’m a jazz fan and I like the jazz and it’s more fun for me to be positive rather than negative.
