To go along with having a consistent bedtime. Have a bedtime routine that includes reading or telling a story. If you read to your children they will value books and reading. You can also teach them your values through children stories. If you are imaginative or good at storytelling kids love being part of the stories you come up with. Also they will do anything not to lose storytime/tucktime with mom or dad.

When the printing press was invented the people were afraid of kids spending all there time imaginatin' and daydreamin' and stuff. Similar to internet and Ipod today. Technology is teh devils. Don't read books to your kids.

I don't read to my kids.
I surf the net with them right before bedtime.
It's the fresh thing to do.
When they get older we will create apps together, and hack into things, and send out spam emails.
We are the cool parents on the block.

Anyone know if they make baby Jazz jerseys?

Btw, my baby is taller/longer than 95% of other babies. Dude is gonna be a baller/a.

If used for nothing else, a big old dictionary makes a great booster seat in an emergency. Esp. since there aren't big old telephone books anymore.

Always keep your mouth closed when changing diapers; little boys have quite the fire hose and they're not afraid to use it.
And wet wipes are fantastic for plugging your nose so you don't die of the foul aroma from those nasty messes. How can anything that foul come from something that cute?

The hard part about this is that it's Hopper saying this, which means it's wrong. Sad, really, because it makes sense.

Im pulling for ya, that'd be awesome if your kid became a basketball player

FWIW, my father is 5'9", my mom is 5'7.5". I am 6'4" and change, and Im still growing a bit even at the age of 18.

So if you're 6'5", your wife is 5'10......good things could happen.

Did the hospital figure out you stole him yet?

In all seriousness every prospective or new parent should watch Bill Cosby, Himself and Juno. Cosby teaches you how to handle a lot of the aggravating things that come with kids with humor and aplomb. Juno shows you how a brilliant parent should react when things don't turn out perfect for our perfect little angels that we all just know are perfect.

Merik? You named the poor little ******* Merik?? Why do parents pick such lame names nowadays?

You should have run a poll here on Jazzfanz. I'm sure we could have all come up with something better. Even "I like cheese" would have been better.

Cute kid by the way. :D
