I feel awful for hayward....that leg break...

You [edited] Whatever happened to being human?

While I had to issue a fract for this one, I agree with it pretty much 100%.

And I hated Hayward for leaving. But I wanted him to just play crappy and watch the Celtics lose, not for him to suffer a horrid injury like that.

All reports are that his injury is less serious than something like a blown acl. People are just getting emotional because it looked like a brutal injury. Honestly though, considering the reactions many fans had after Dante blew his acl, a lot of people are being pretty hypocritical here. Haywood is going to be fine, and it's kind of pathetic how little concern some fans have had for Jazz players, but want to throw a fit because not everyone is upset for Gordon Haywad.

They'll get over it once he's healed and playing again, especially when they suddenly remember what a dick he was on his way out.

I've been in almost a state of shock. Gordon was our guy and we all wanted him back, so to see him go down like this in the first first five minutes of his Celtics debut was atrocious. I hope he has a speedy recovery and we see him on the court this year.

I think guilt fuels this. People probably think that somehow they caused this. Or similar to telling someone off then finding out shortly after that their dad died, or that they died.

One thing is interesting, though. This year I believe the Celtics without him will surely have a worse record, and in the east, which will likely sting at the end of the season that a Haywardless Jazz is far superior to a Haywardless Celtics. So much for that winning culture.

Hopefully they still make the playoffs, though, so they're out of the lottery. I'd love to see them finish as the 8th seed and face the Lebronians with a healthy IT. Thomas deserves revenge.

There is one positive from all of this. Kind of twisted and deep, but positive regardless.

With this injury, the worst part of sports fans will be avoided. When Hayward would have come back this season, Jazz fans would have spewed hate at him. The boos, chants, cussing, whatever would have been louder than support for OUR players. The injury was brutal, but the worst from Jazz fans has been avoided.

Not going to lie, all this coddling of Hayward is making me hate him more.

Geez, he looks so exhausted in that hospital video. Must be from all the ****-riding he's receiving in this thread.

Alright maybe family was a bit strong, but I still care a lot about the players on this team and yes Hayward left, but watching the injury happen felt like one of our own going down.

To me Hayward is like a girlfriend who has dumped me. I respect her right to choose someone else, I don't wish her ill and feel badly if something happens to her, and I hope she finds happiness in life. But damned if I feel any connection to her anymore, and neither do I give much of a sh** about what she does or with whom. She's history, and I've moved on. Still, this is bad, aside from how he handled his departure, Hayward is a class act and a stand-up guy. I hope he recovers and is back on the court quickly. No karma here, just plain, dumb bad luck.

He's not dead !!!

Good recovery, Gordon

Yeh I saw this live, glad I did because it immediately put me back on an even keel, reigniting my hostility for this phony douche.

Look, I feel bad that Hayward got done like that, but let’s not go as far as to call him “class act” and “stand-up guy”. A class act calls Gail Miller. A stand-up guy calls Quinn and Lindsay and levels with the Jazz once his decision got leaked. He seems like a good person but he certainly doesn’t have the stones necessary to be considered a stand-up guy. He’s proven that.

yea that was an absolute disaster decision from kyrie. what the **** was he thinking throwing that garbage.

I am just reading this thread and haven't read beyond this post yet..... Maybe that was Kyrie's point and message to the rest of the team 'You want me to pass you the ball? This is what will happen to those who oppose me'.

Hayward being an awkward dude is what makes you dislike him?

I think we mistake his awkward social skills for being phony.
