What's new

I truly believe (yes, it's Corbin)

this sickening mess that we call the Utah Jazz has more to do with Corbin than anything else. I just wish we had another coach to see if what I feel is true, that our poor excuse of a coach is largely to blame for the poor play and unrealized potential of our young guys. How long is the FO going to let this abomination continue?

You have never gotten along with any coaches, of course you say this (even though I agree somewhat).

Expectations from essentially everyone on JAZZFANZ is that we'd be a 20 win team not an 8 win team. We expected that our Core4 was better than they've shown. We did not expect to have all 'great losses' but rather at least more than 2 of them...

The suckiness to this point is concerning. whatever reason, it is worse than the 'regular' tanking expectations. I don't know how to search the site to find a pre-season poll on expected wins, but i'm doubtful many if any, predicted 8 wins.
I know I expected high 20's, then brought it down a bit with Burke's injury. Personally, I'm THRILLED if the Jazz continue to have different problems and finish with 10 wins. Jazz will go from having a pick in the 7/8 range (still a good player) to likely drafting a SUPERSTAR. Hayward, Favors and Kanter have all had their moments, although I must say Enes has looked pretty soft. Burks has been pretty disappointing outside of the first game. But if I have my choice of Burks scoring 16-18 and winning us several games, or continuing his poor play and helping us to 70 losses and Parker or Wiggins, I take the latter.

I was thinking the same thing. Why didn't we make any changes when they went on their run in the 2nd? How can a coach watch a team bury you and not make a substitution of some kind?

Sloan used to do the same thing, make the young guys play through the pain. We would be up by 16 or something and they would go on a 10-0 run, and then instead of calling a timeout or subbing, he would just let it roll. The players would be obviously frustrated, and after we were finally down 4 he would call time out, or just let it ride to coincide with an official TO. Corbin comes by it honestly, but he doesn't understand what to do with it, how to use it to teach or move his team forward at all. He just thinks "oh you just let them play through it until they are down a few and magically they will get better for it".

I know we're built to lose but that does not excuse Ty's incompetency. How he ever got the job in the first place is beyond me. It appears he may be braindead.

Jerry ****ing Sloan is employed by the organization and Ty still has a job? I say we ax him at the airport Thursday morning after we lose to New Orleans. Lane Kiffin-style.

Again, so we can what, win 25-30 games and miss out on a superstar? Now that we've started off 1-11, it's time to go for the worst record.

To quote Matt Harpring, "do we even have a ****ing offense?" (though I hate using the term 'we' for the sports teams I follow, but I digress)

I don't know if that's on Ty or if there is a system and the players aren't playing in it, but I've never seen a Jazz team do nothing but chuck up awful jumpers like the Jazz do. They just ignore the paint for some reason.

Looks like Corbin has totally lost the locker room. Players are not willing to come in and fight for their coach.
Bring in an experienced and respected coach in SVG and you'll start to see a completely different team.
Or... you keep losing, end the season with 11-70 and can't pick either Wiggins or Parker (which would be 58.8% probability)
AND YOU'LL BE THE WORST TEAM IN WEST FOR MANY YEARS

And you should just calm down with all your caps and underlining and red font.

Can we officially bury that term after tonight? Burks is awful, Kanter is a lost puppy. Favors & Hayward would make good 3rd or 4th options on a team that wins 45 games.

In truth though...I'd like to see them with some sembalance of a pg to play with. Non are alpha but they are going to be great players for us. Kanter and favors are still adjusting to getting kinutes and favors seems to be making progress.

Is it Corbin? Or is it the fact that we dont have a team that can play. To be honest I am all about tanking this season for the draft. The more we lose the more excited I get for the draft. Who cares if we tank this season? We are looking at possibly getting Parker sho will come in and we can build around him. For once I think this is the smartest thing the Jazz have done in the last 20 years. Go tank.

Sure, sorry about it. Allow me to do it one last time though.

Damn...lol...some of yall thiught we would win games this year?

It's not about winning - teams are coming into ESA and treating it like a cake walk. They have no respect for the organization. The Spurs played the first 15 minutes like it was a Sunday morning shoot-around. The Warriors, a good team, not a great team, were simply toying with The Jazz last night. When The Jazz made their "run" in the 3rd period, The Warriors collectively had almost this annoyed look on their face like, "oh ****, I guess we'll have to start playing again."

Historically, The Jazz have always been a franchise where the whole has been greater than the sum of its parts. To this day I still can't believe The Jazz managed to win 50+ games with Todd Fuller and Greg Foster as regular rotation players. Now you see individual achievment but zero cohesion - in other words, just like the usual 6 or 7 bottom feeding teams in the league that have been in the lottery every year for the last decade.

Corbin has to go. It's not all his fault. It may not even be 51% his fault. But it's clear that the players are not buying whatever he's trying to sell. And more importantly I don't think they respect him either like you should a coach (I've always felt this way). And with a young team, the longer he stays the more difficult it will be for the next coach to come in and make these guys play hard.

Agreed. Not sure that a HOF coach would have a lot more wins, but the team would look like they know what they are doing. This team is hopelessly lost on the floor. Don't know what to do or when to do it.

The tank is great, but not at the cost of ruining the young guys and the team. I certainly expected them to lose 60 games, but not 75. And I expected them to look fairly good in a lot of games, not to get embarrassed time and again to mid-level teams that are not even trying. The idea for this season was to lose and learn, not lose and be confused all the time.

For those defending Corbin, do you think he is the guy going forward? Do you want him here next year? If not, don't you worry about the ruination he is causing?

Life is so unfair. I thought I was gonna be able to have my cake and eat it, too. I had it all planned out. We were gonna lose enough games to draft an all star, but they would all be one point losses and the players would never show the slightest sign of discouragement. My self-entitled view of the way the world should work has been shattered.

Nobody said rebuilding would be easy, so if you can't stand the heat, get the **** out of the kitchen.
