I Wonder if the Jazz F/O Regret This

You do have to give props to David Locke though. He always stated that's who the Jazz should go after in the draft.

Yes, he was telling us that was who the Jazz should draft, but then he also told about all the reasons why the Jazz didn't like MCW. I thought that it was all a gimmick, that he had inside info that the Jazz wanted MCW but was trying to play a smoke screen while setting himself up to look smart. Dang me I fell for the double blind smoke screen trick again.

In other news, 10 other teams passed on MCW as well. A few of them might be saying oh-crap too.

I was one of the lone supporter for MCW as is clearly illustrated by this poll:

https://jazzfanz.com/showthread.php?15605-Playoffs-VS-Trey-Burke

But I do realize that the FO may view MCW as too much of what Burks already brings to the table. Tall, athletic combo guard, with limited shooting ability.

One thing MCW had on Burks though, which was clearly the case even in college was his ability to make passes and get assists. His court vision is still miles ahead of where Burks' is. He was also a very good defender even though he had to play zone defines at Syracuse.

True but you kept jumping around......

I hated the idea of drafting mcw. I have now been put in my place

I never liked MCW and still don't like him. I bet it's a fluke. He might end up being an ok PG in the league but definitely not a good fit for the Jazz.

An oversized pg who has a nose for getting in the passing lanes has no fit on a team who is trying to build a championship caliber defense? An oversized PG who can see the entire floor at all times, who is also a very competent passer who is able to get the ball to his teammates where they will be most succesful has no place with the organization whose HOF PG holds the all-time assist record?

I wasn't high on MCW because the few college games I saw I wasn't impressed with his shot, or his passing. He made a lot of turnovers and played zone so I didn't know how he would do playing one on one in the NBA. It is just one game but a very impressive one. Not the first time I've been wrong but since I don't actually get to see the workouts or all his games;it makes it tougher to evaluate players. I wasn't that big of a fan of Trey either but he is on the team and I want him to get healthy and to play well.

I will keep an eye on his career to see how wrong I was.

I thought he couldn't shoot, his assists came along with turnovers and he wasn't as effective as he was told inside.

I said he would bust but I am not sure now.

Bah, MCW sucked during summer league. No amount of success can compensate for failure in the summer league. Jazz need to go and get some summer league MVP's.

Yeah, that one guy that you can sag off and let him shoot. You got it right.

I also wasn't a fan of MCW, but wow. And Trey Burke's summer league play had a lot of us feeling buyers remorse. I felt it even on draft night - because they traded BOTH picks for Trey. Meh. They redeemed themselves when the bought the Gobert pick. I loved getting Gobert. But at PG I wanted Shroeder. Still do. Dunno how he's doing though.

Schroeder has played like a poor man's rondo. He has great quickness and speed with the ball.

I am willing to wait up to a season or two to see how Burke develops before I start going off about regret and buyers remorse. If Burke does well then that is all I care about.

What the hell has Chris Paul every Done?????????????

Somethin like 42 pts 15 assists and 6 steals last night.
Not a bad night
