I just watched some old games and I notice Hayward was good when he lurked in the shadows behind Sap and Jefferson. I also notice one big thing....Watch some games that came down to the wire. You will notice Hayward bricking and air balling the final shot and guess who bailed him out at least 4 times? Millsap.
The guy is GOOD, but he's just NEVER EVER a number 1 option on a team. He had his chance to prove himself and as the number 1 option, but so far I just don't see it at all.
Do you really think the guy is still learning? I think you can no conclude the type of player Hayward will be. To me he's still a guy who should be coming off the bench to spark the team. That's where he did really good last year and this year it has become even more obvious where he stands.
I'm not writing this to BASH Hayward because I really do want this guy to become a basketball god. I always cheer for him but it's time to come back to earth and realize what we're dealing with here. Maybe he's just being used terribly wrong maybe there are some external factors that are causing these terrible games from him. I mean it could be Corbin's offense that just not working with Hayward possibly because he would do better in a different system.
I also don't want another AK47 situation with the possibility of Hayward getting that Max money. Hayward is a solid player, but max contract worthy? in my eyes, NO.
