Ideas/Recommendations for a family trip

Seeing as we only have 7 days to spend in the States, we would have to knock out at least 2 for driving if we'll be trekking for 1000 miles (us fatigue-less Albanians usually alternate between 3-4 drivers to knock a road trip in one night).

I don't know how far it would be for you but I'd do Northern California (Yosemite, etc.) first for about four to five days and then come back and see Oregon and Washington for the last five or six.

Something there doesn't quite add up. At least we know the reason you're not a math teacher.

Peeps, quit being cheeky and give me advice!!!!

Actually, continue being cheeky. Seing Wes owned by Bronco and now Cat makes me giggle

Duck, thanks a lot for the advice. Will rep whenever possible. We will probably stick to the pacific coast then. Any places around there that'd be decent to spend a lot of time in? Is Portland any good? Apparently Seattle seems to be getting more praise. I know a hipster like me will feel right at home in Oregon, but a family trip is still a family trip. Id rather avoid a place like the Zoo though, Calgary has a decent one that we just went to two weeks ago.

No, I just thought I'd throw it out there since I was at the GSL this afternoon. Also, if anyone is curious... the lake is indeed, still salty.

I like Duck Rogers' suggestion of Minnesota or North or South Dakota. In Minnesota you could visit Mall of America and maybe catch a Twins game. In South Dakota you could swing by Mount Rushmore.

After much discussion, my parents have booked plane-tickets for the five of us to Los Angeles. It will be our first time there.

Any must-see places? Good (and cheap) hotel ideas? Thank you everyone :)

LA is overrated if you do like Disneyland and Universal both are major Ripoffs. its pretty spread out I think and if you are renting a car prepare to sit in A lot of traffic ha ha ha But I liked the smaller cool suburbs with the big houses like the palisades, brentwood, and Its not too far from like Beverly Hills and places like That.
