If Hayward Leaves?

I'd like to see the Jazz go on offense and make a trade around the draft that helps the team. If Favors comes back healthy for the Jazz, that's a huge boon. But if the Jazz can move Burks, picks, Lyles, etc. and leverage their cap space and Diaw's expiring deal to bring back an interesting player, that would help the Jazz with Hayward.

I agree. If Hayward leaves, I want Utah to start over. Ship out Gobert, Favors, and everyone else and pray for lottery luck.

Nothing works better than prayer! I also think the argument you're making is trash. Much like the Celtics.

True, but Klay isn't the second best player on GS. He is third? Fourth? AND, three Warriors made the team. IT and Hayward would make the team together if they won 60+ games.

The Celtics won't win 60 games. They're basically upgrading Jae Crowder and Jaylen Brown with a better wing in Hayward. They still get outrebounded every night, rely on small semi-skilled guards and have no interior defense. It's also unlikely IT can keep up this level of play.

Because the Jazz are a better team than Boston.
Because he likes it here.
Because his longest coaching relationship is with Snyder and he likes him.
Because he likes his teammates.
Because his wife wants to stay here.
Because he likes raising a family in Utah. Because he has close friends here.
Because the money is more.
Because he can get more years here.
Because his legacy can be greater by sticking with one team.
Because winning in Utah is more appreciated.
Because winning a championship in Utah is a bigger deal.
Because he is the star and leader in the Jazz like he wanted.
Because the Jazz have a great plan going forward.
Because Jazz have an elite defense and a good offense that can be elite.
Because he has great role models and veterans he looks up to here.
Because he knows what he has here and that he likes it. Other teams are unknown.
Because fans appreciate him here.
Because criticism is much less here than other places.
Because he made it to the all Star team here.
Because it's the better choice.
That's just a quick few off the top of my head.

this ..

and does he really want the pressure of the comparisons of being the top player and white boy on a Celtics team ???

name one reason why he'd want to go to Boston that actually makes a bunch of sense ....

I don't get why everyone thinks that IT is the centerpiece of the Celtics...especially if they can add Hayward and Butler.

Hell, if I'm Boston, I throw everything at Hayward, then everything at Utah.

End up with:

IT
Bradley
Hayward
Someone, who cares who
Gobert

That team is winning 60+ games.

More money, better coach, more wins.

There are three, the top three reasons to go anywhere. All in favor of Boston.

Lmao

"using your expiring assets to add depth to the squad rocks the boat too violently and may destroy our delicately balanced beamed cakk bakk" - me

Hill
Hood
Hayward
Favors/Johnson
Gobert

is a better team than you've just listed, and the Jazz have zero motivation to give Gobert to the Celtics.

Plus, who are the C's going to unload their Horford max contract on?

I don't disagree.

To make Boston better, they need Hayward and someone else (George/Butler/etc).

BUT, IF Utah were to go get a George, then suddenly the scales flip back to Utah. Hayward, George, Gobert...I think those three could compete with anyone.

Just how GS has some luck with Leonard getting hurt, if those three faced GS and Durant or Curry missed a game or two? Utah wins.

Go out and get a third person Utah. Don't blow this.

This I agree with.

If I'm understanding, Gordon's best move financially is to sign a 1x1 max extension with the Jazz and see if he can make All NBA during the next one or two seasons. He just made his first All Star game and took another step forward in the Playoffs. He could make All NBA next year if things break right for him.

Is this correct?

I think so. Of course that leaves a ton of guaranteed money on the table.

More money .. no better coach meh Snyder has helped him become an all star more wins .. they play in the putrid east. They have significant flaws and aren't anywhere near contending any sooner than we are.

Green gonna green

Hayward ain't going anywhere

Less money actually.
You make assumptions that he would get more in endorsements or something but those are just assumptions.

Brady and the pats are more popular than the celtics. So are the red sox.

He can have car dealerships here.

Weak ***.

Here is the final nail in the coffin:

IF you are Hayward's agent, what city gives Hayward the best shot at making an All NBA team?

If Utah is third in the West next year with Hayward and Boston is #2 in the East with Hayward, Hayward is a for sure Al NBA guy on Boston. On Utah? Probably doesn't make it.

ALL NBA is about personal accomplishment, not how good your team is. Playing with IT automatically diminishes Hayward's role offensively, let alone if they were to get Butler like you've suggested. You try to make the argument that Boston would be a better team AND Hayward would be more likely to make ALL NBA, which is completely contradictory.

Not only that, but that designated player option goes out the window if he goes to Boston or any other team. That's the whole reason they added that into the CBA, to give players more incentive to stay put.

All around, you're just talking out your *** because you like to hear the clackity clack clack of the keyboard.

I don't see how being in Utah is a disadvantage in getting selected to All NBA. Rudy just got named to the 2nd team ahead of Cousins and Gasol, and he came very close to making the 1st team.

You serious? Utah gets less national TV and their games come on later. Its a clear disadvantage.

I don't think that matters much. It's sports writers who vote, and it's their job to know what they are talking about. I'm sure they all have access to LP. I mean, Rudy got snubbed from the all-star game and still came very close to 1st team all NBA.

The bigger problem is homerism, and I don't think more nationally televised games is going to stop some dumbass LA dweeb from voting Jordan to 1 st team, or stop that Denver moron from voting against Rudy because he wants Jokic to look better.

Considering the fact that players are losing money on this, the league needs to take a close look at who is voting dishonestly. Some of those votes are less than obvious, but a few are bad enough that the writer should lose his vote.
