If Hayward Leaves?

Hayward isn't leaving for the **** show with the midget. Massachusetts should be ****ing embarrassed!

I agree to an extent. Green made it due to the ezposure GS gets. Hayward deserved it over him. The other forwarda selected are accurate IMO, although Hayward had jist as good of a season as Butler IMO.
Ya but green doesn't get that exposure due to the market he plays in. He gets it cause he plays on one of the greatest teams of all time.

If the utah jazz had steph, draymond, durant, and Hayward and were in the way to their 3rd finals in a row and had won 73 games last year then hayward would be getting plenty of exposure. Even in lil ol utarh

I called in and got on the radio show today for ESPN 700. Andy Larsen was a guest on the show today. If you click the link and go to around the 39-minute mark you will hear them answer Cy's question from Twitter and my question on the air. Pretty awesome stuff.

There is too much to do a full transcript but I can give you a pretty good summary.

Cy asked if the Nets would take on Burks if we threw in pick 42 of the draft. The answer was no and Larsen said the Nets would probably rather use that cap space on a younger player. We would probably have to throw in pick 30, tbh. He went a little in depth on how Burks isn't as good as we think he is but mentioned injuries have a lot to do with it.

I asked what would the Jazz do if Hayward leaves. The answer was DL will most likely make moves that improves the team whether Hayward is here or not. Larsen referenced the deal OKC did where they got Oladipo for Ibaka. That makes me believe we will make a trade or two during or around the draft that improves the team and would put us in a position to make the playoffs if Hayward left. If he stays it means we just upgraded the team even more. He mentioned Gobert is too good of a player to try and tank again. Also, Hill is as good as gone if Hayward leaves.

I hope that was easy to understand I believe I summed it up pretty nicely.

The team you play for matters very little on all nba votes. It comes into play for all star starters.

Well done Fish

You either have to be dumb or ignorant to believe this after the all NBA votes just came out.

Gobert not on some ballots? Butler (Chicago) over George (Indiana) and Hayward (Utah).

Don't lie to yourself. If Gobert was in Boston or LA or Chicago he'd be unanimous first team. If Hayward was in Chicago and Butler in Utah, Hayward would be all NBA and Butker would be left out.

Why didn't Chris Paul make an All-NBA team then?

Why did Gobert finish ahead of Jordan?

Uh, every gm in the league would take butler over hayward and George. He's a better player and deserved the nod.

This is pretty debatable. They are all very close numbers-wise when you consider pace. I do think that Butler deserved the 3rd team nod over the other two this year, but not by much.

Was disappointing to not hear from Dennis at the exit interviews but here is a few quotes from Dennis that I read last night regarding Gordon;

"The day-to-day selling and internal negotiation is a lot more important than balloons, pompoms and ceremonial stuff," Lindsey said. Lindsey cited Hayward's relationships with Johnnie Bryant, Quin Snyder and the rest of the Jazz's staff that allowed him to improve into the All-Star player he was this season.

"I've seen a lot of great offseasons. But I can't say that, between Olajuwon, Duncan, Ginobili, Drexler, that I've ever seen a better one," Lindsey said.

"Every fiber of our collective being and soul of the Utah Jazz want him back," Lindsey said. "We think it's a great fit."

I'm certain Gordon is feeling the love from the FO. Whether or not that love is reciprocated, we will see...

He also mentioned George Hill and basically stated that; We've loved having you here, we think we are a great fit but if you find someone willing to pay you the MAX then there will be no hard feelings and we wish you all the best.

Also this from DL when asked about approaching the cap line.

"The only reason we've operated under the cap was strategy. We wanted to take picks, buy picks, take opportunities," Lindsey said. "We're at the stage where we have a good team, and we want to keep it together. They're fully committed to that.

"I head into the draft portion and then free agency with full confidence that we're fully funded. Look at the legacy trust. The Miller family can draw no income, all of the money is being invested back into the team," Lindsey said.
