What's new

i'm quite disgusted with the NBA refs tonight turning a blind eye to westbrook's actions.

I really dont think it is. He wasnt on the bench, he was at the scorers table. It's a gray area and Silver ruled correctly. Anyone getting suspended over that would be ridiculous.

Not really at all. If they don’t like the rule get it outta there... don’t pick and choose when u want to apply the rule.

CJ got suspended from a preseason game and he wasn’t trying to get in the mix... Westbrook came off the scorers table for one reason only... video don’t lie.

This is where I'm at on this. As far as the game itself went my only beef with the refs is that if they were handing out T's to 'get control of the game' as I've heard repeated so often its ludicrous that Westbrook never got handed one. He was the primary instigator all night long.

After it's all said and done though I'd much rather Westbrook suit up for game 5 than not. He's been nearing Melo level bad this series.

There is something to be said for punishment as a deterrent. If the point of the rule is to deter players from escalating conflict from across the court, this seems to fly in the face of that. Especially in light of the way the rule has been applied previously.

Anyone watching the Sixers game? Johnson should get tossed for a clothesline. Cheap shot.

With regard to a suspension, I’m not pissed about this hurting us or being afraid we’ll lose because of it, I’m pissed because whether or not fouls are or are not called (league wide) depends to a high degree on who the fouler and foul recipient are and it’s garbage. This reinforces that notions to all officials that how the rules are applied are fluid and variable. This goes beyond the Jazz.

Agreed, the rule of law is crucial to a civilised society....

Anyone who is super upset he isnt suspended is a giant *****. Straight up. You really want him to get suspended over a stupid technicality rule? Christ. The Jazz are up 3-1, stop crying about the refs.

Again, I largely agree but it's worth noting that Crowder got tossed on a technicality. The optics of this really aren't great for the league imo.

Sure, but that was during the game in a blowout where the outcome was basically decided already. He was a sacrificial lamb for the sake of controlling the sanity of the game.

In a league where popular players get special treatment, the Jazz are always going to get boned. This was ENTIRELY special treatment. Wastebrook left the bench (not checked in=bench, dillweed) in order to CAUSE problems. That isn't a technicality, it is EXACTLY why the rule was made.

Jazz better be 30 points better tomorrow, because the fix is in. If it results in an injury or a Jazz suspension during the Houston series, Cy can talk about "whining" then.

If any Jazz player left the bench, it would have been a suspension.

Dog, Gobert gets special treatment every game.

There was no timeout but 7 Thunder players on the court. Someone is in the wrong here. If you can’t see that I recommend pulling your head out of your ***. I realize that’s a task as it is so far up there.

There is nothing cornier than listening people bitch about the reffing. The Jazz have gotten away with just as much as the Thunder have this series.

Cool, you still want to cry and whine more so a player gets suspended over a dumb rule? Nothing happened. Everyone was fine. Stop crying.
